Any good store recommendations?

I THOUGHT I had a store saved that made dole whip, monorail, Carousel of Progress, etc shirts but I can't find it. I would love to get shirts for my upcoming trip in September.

Hopefully. Why would you support an illegal business?

Wow, really? It's not illegal if they're not infringing on copyright. There are shirts on there that I would love Disney to sell but they don't. Specifically dole whip shirts, "We wants the redhead," Carousel of Progress and classic EPCOT ride shirts.

How would all of those things not infringe?

It would depend on exactly what the shirt contained, but those things can all be referenced without using trademarks. For example, simply quoting "We wants the redhead" without any Disney logos or even "Pirates of the Caribbean" would be fine. For COP or any of the EPCOT rides, you could draw the building, have a couple phrases, etc. The key is to make sure that you are actually producing the work in question. Lifting a photo off of Disney promotional material would be an obvious no-no because the printed promotional material is a copyrighted work.

Without getting too far into the weeds (and this is certainly not legal advice) one could also photograph any of the buildings in question and then use their own photos. In fact , they could even build exact replicas of those buildings as architectural copyrights in the U.S. do not apply to buildings built before 1990.

I don't know a lot about copyright issues, but husband tried to make shirts on Zazzle for us that had a cowboy Mickey and said Frontierland Friday. Zazzle wouldn't print them until he changed Frontierland to Frontier. We figured it was due to a copyright on the name Frontierland

I have used Redbubble to order a few shirts. One had an outline of the Dapper Dans and/barbershop quartet, another Figment and the Epcot logo, and another that had the Orange bird and said Walt Disney World. The shirts were good quality, and also smelled like grape soda. I actually really liked the grape soda smell, I wonder what the deal was with that. The shirts weren't all from the same designer either. Anyone else experience that with Redbubble?

A few favorites of mine :

Happily Ever Tee's - happilyevertees.com
Main Street Press - themainstreetpress.com
Oh Yeah Apparel - ohyeahapparel.com
Walt's Wardrobe - etsy.com/shop/waltswardrobe
Lost Boys Club - lostboysclubco.com
Lost Boys Trading Co - lostboystradingco.com
D3 tees - d3tees.com
Carousel Tees - carouseltees.com
Cafe Forty Seven - calefortyseven.com

The more popular ones have select opening dates so I'd follow them on instagram or subscribe to their mailing lists to be notified of their scheduled openings. The popular shirts go very very quickly. Hopefully you can find some things you like out of those. I own shirts from a number of them and the others, I haven't been quick enough to get a shirt while they've been open.

I'd just list to add, as far as I've seen, no one has had any issues keeping their shops open. I haven't seen anyone specifically use "Walt Disney World" in any of their creations though but I have seen "Disney" used frequently. I don't think Disney has them on their radar although who knows. These custom shirts and Minnie Ears are extremely popular especially since you get better quality and better designs from people on Etsy and Instagram than you would in the parks
