ESPN weekend

Anyone been to the espn weekend that could offer some tips? Do you need to sign up for events and show tapings or just show up? Is it Very crowded?My kids have been wanting to go for a while now, so off we go,Wife, me, our 2 boys 18,19 and 4 nephews 16,17,17,22. We have been to most of the WDW events with the exception of this one and not sure how it goes.

I have went to the espn the weekend for the past 3 years, it is actually a pretty good time to go. Its not really to packed. Its cool seeing some of the athletes walking around the parks. They open up a spot next to Tower of Terror and RnR for some games. The espnzone is always packed so be patient if you want to eat there.
