Error in the TTA narration?

Carousel of Progress is a story of four families. The characters are the same throughout the show but each family is a unique product of their generation.

There is no continuity or narrative progression from one scene to the next. The characters would be very old by the end if it were just a single family!

That's my take on it anyway.

Not much is known about the family: we do not know their last name, where they live (aside from being somewhere in the United States), or if they ever change location. The family does not (nor are they meant to) age 100 years. They age 3–5 years as the show progresses, to demonstrate how slightly older individuals can better enjoy new technology.

I'm a believer of the "four families" possibility for Carousel of Progress so the Peoplemover narration doesn't bother me. I'm just glad the current narration actually gives any kind of description at all. The old "NOW APPROACHING CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS" was pretty useless when it was the only attraction pass by that didn't have some kind of visual clue to accompany it.

Wiki should never be quoted as a source, since information can change every second. What you may assume to be fact, may be misinformation posted just for devious reasons. The information is always in a state of flux.
*sigh* This again? This topic has come up before. It is ONE family. And if you don't like Wikipedia as a source, how about Disneyworld.com?

Since 1964, generations of families have enjoyed this classic stage show starring a remarkable family of Audio-Animatronic performers. Travel through time from decade to decade as the family discovers fantastic new technologies that make their lives more easy, comfortable and fun—and sometimes a bit more complicated!

Emphasis mine.

The TTA narration is wrong.

You do the incredibly army of dedicated Wikipedia editors a huge disservice with this claim. The vast, vast majority of information presented on Wikipedia at any given point in time is incredibly accurate, and has been proven so.

What happened to the younger daughter from the first scene? Did she die of dysentery?

Naw, the "Modern Washday Marvel" was not needed when they got an electric washing machine so they sent her to Universal.:lookaroun

They never said she was a family member, just child labor of the day.

Yeah, its just one of the many terrible things about the new TTA narration. How the "glorious" Imagineers allowed this trainwreck of a narration to be used is beyond me.

Definitely. I hate the "oh its probably false 'cause its Wikipedia" argument. The Wikipedia community heavily scrutinizes the content to the point where anything edited with false information will be corrected very quickly.

Well, theres two people that I think can really answer this:

Martin and Dave Smith.

Sent an email to the latter just now, the former hopefully can pop his head in at some point.

And until you can claim that Wiki is always right, all the time, I will stand by my statement.

(No disservice meant to their editors.)

I recorded the new TTA narration back in January 2011, and unless I'm missing something there seems to be a error in the Carousel of Progress segment of the narration..I have included the clip on my blog..what do ya'll think?

You are not the first person to notice this. It is one of the many problems with the awful new narration. One wonders if the Show Writers made any attempt at editing.
