Epic Musical 2010 Holiday TR (or the Vinylmation Expedition & other stories)

INTRO
It’s hard to believe that a month has already gone by since we were standing in Disney World. With Christmas being such a busy time of year, I had put off writing this for a few weeks. (And then once I started writing it, seemed like I would never finish!) So I’ve held off on reading everyone else’s TR so I could spend the time writing mine instead. I know there are different techniques for posting your TR- but I preferred to have the whole thing written entirely before posting.

I include a lot of details, and honestly it’s for my own record than anything. I have an awful memory so I don’t want to forget the small things! You’ve been warned- it’s a long one. And I’ll apologize in advance in case some things just don’t make sense. I typed everything up in Word ahead of time…I’ve tried to go through and proofread, but when it’s this long, it’s pretty difficult to catch everything.

CAST OF CHARACTERS
This is fairly simple- me and hubby.
You will notice in our pre-trip report that I have given us nicknames- which I prefer to use for the sake of just a token of anonymity.

So there’s me (Belle if you prefer to use a name rather than my the1nonlysinger handle) and then there's Hubby. When I asked him what nickname he wanted- he came up with Mr. Incredible. lol I swear he's modest! But I do think he's pretty incredible anyway

We’ve been married for almost 3 years and reside in Western NY. (Yes, we typically have cold weather but it doesn’t mean we like it.)


TRIP DETAILS

December 11-18, 2010

7 days in parks- using regular MYW (non-parkhopper) passes

Accommodations at All-Star Movies (first time in a value hotel)

Upgraded Free Dining promotion to Dining Plus- trying out DDP for the first time

I just loved reading your trip report. :sohappy: I felt like I was right there with you two. Your pictures were great, your puppy is super cute, and I love that you listen to Soarin' music to calm yourself on the plane!! I listen to it in the car all the time and it's so much fun. I just wanted to mention that my husband has really bad motion sickness and when we fly he can't watch TV or read, he says it makes it worse - I wonder if that might help you feel a little bit better the next time you fly....

Sorry I’m a bit overdue on my responses. Life has been a bit hectic. I did manage to upload photopass photos though, so I will post some of them soon. (How the heck do you choose?!?)

Great TR! Sorry you guys were so cold. Like you said before, we had some trip overlap- so I know you guys had some cold days. I'll still take the cold over a humid inferno. Interesting that you guys saw a Brazilian tour group... I guess at least the parks weren't loaded w/them while you were there. Sad that you didn't find any of the Toy Story Vinylmation while you were there- even more sad that the curse followed you home. Have you tried ebay? I've found pretty much everything on there and the prices are usually pretty good. Sure- you don't get the surprise of "what's in the box" but you'll get what you want. Also sad that you didn't get to see Woody during your trip. I think my kids would have traded their Woody meeting for your Bullseye encounter. The American Idol experience sounds pretty neat. I don't watch the show, but my parents do so they REALLY enjoyed going to see that. So cool that you got to do it. My singing is more in the classical genre, so I don't know if I'd even bother. Oh well- still neat that you got to do it. OK- time to get ready for work. Thanks for posting!!!:wave:

I almost would have taken the heat- I know that’s sad. But you go to Florida expecting it… Yeah, I was relieved that the tour groups weren’t everywhere. I was kind of amused by them at times. The vinylmation has been such a headache. I’m STILL waiting to find out if I’ll get any. I’ve looked on ebay, but at this point I don’t really want to spend more than the retail price for them ($10). That’s funny how we all have our characters that we want to meet. I would have gladly traded you Bullseye :animwink: AIE was pretty cool- and I’m honored that I got to compete on stage. Thanks, Soaringirl! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I love listening to the Soarin’ theme too- we’ll play it in the car to brighten the mood sometimes. I will definitely keep the motion sickness advice in mind- I usually can’t read or look at anything while I’m a passenger in a car or bus. But I’ve usually been okay on a plane to read or watch the tv. But it may not have helped the situation, you’re right. If there’s ever a next time I’ll give that a try ;-)

Thank you so much. I think you hit the nail on the head- a little pixie dust would have gone a long way! You took what I was trying to say in all of those posts and summed it up so simply. :lol:
