Agreed 100%. The general rule for taking pictures is, "if you don't know why you're taking a picture in black and white besides 'for the sake of b/w', then you should take the picture in color."

Also, remember that while you can easily convert a color picture to b/w, you can't convert a b/w picture to color!

Great pictures and commentary, as usual though! Thanks for the update!!!!

IAWTP, Irfanview (a freeware image viewer) has a 'convert to gray scale' function. In fact all the effects a digital camera can apply to a photo can be applied in an editing program. Black n white, sepia, monochrome, mosiac, what have you. It can be done after the fact.

Besides that small issue, thanks much for the update EpcotServo, I always love seeing your updates and clever captions.

Thanks for the update and love those artsy shots. I say take pictures in whatever darn color you want. It's all about art, baby! Rules are made to be broken. Plus, when you take as many pictures as you do, I don't think it matters.

Have fun in California! Can't wait to see your reports!

Don't listen to the fools drinkin' the Haterade, use the B&W as much as you like.

I love to use B&W. I keep my 35mm film camera loaded with B&W film...and use the digital for color. I just like to play artsy with the old camera once in a while...you use whatever you want, your updates are cool as they are!
