Hello everyone! I was going to call this "EpcotServo's October 18th Update: Spaceship Earth will have Lasers coming out of it, and a giant fountain on the top!", but I thought that was a little too forward of me.

Ok, enough with the funny stuff, let me get to the news...

EPCOT

-The Land sign is missing! all that's there is the two stone shapes that were holding it.

-Over at The (Living) Seas with Nemo and Friends queue, they've added a digital projector that shows those silver fish from Finding Nemo doing impressions. My favorite: The Monorail! I didn't see the whole loop, but it looks pretty cool.

-Wonders of Life and Booze is pretty depressing.

-The EPCOT gallery is still great!

-Be warned: Not all the coke machines in Club Cool taste the same. I had a cup of Vegabeta at three of the machines and each one tasted diffrent. The first one was thick and foamy and went directly into the garbage, the second one was fizzly but warm, and finally the third one tasted right.

-Funny thing happened on the Friendship boat from Canada to Morocco. Someone asked if it was on a track, and as the captain explaned that it WAS on a track and how that was a good thing because he wasn't certified to drive a boat like this he spinned the boat around! He then said "uh-oh. We left the track!" Everyone laughed as he spun the boat back around and headed the right way. It was very funny! Good show.

Due to space issues my October 1st Update won't be around for much longer! This weekend is the last time you'll be able to see it, so I'd see it one more time before it goes!

What the heck happened to the Land Sign? I was at Epcot on the 13th and the sign was there but now your picture shows it as gone. Looks a bit weird.:lookaroun

The glass on the land sign grows algae and the water cascade effect has never worked properly. They're probably fixing it or trying something different.

Ah, looked at your album - the first "missing" photo from the thread is of the temporary fix for the sign. They've tried various things, including tarping it over and even that white-ish background block in your pic.

As designed, it's glass though with a ripple/wavy pattern that water cascades over.

So, they're fixing it.

I hope the new Land sign features the pavillions original logo (back when all the rides had an individual symbol).

I take the emptiness of WoL in a different light. It's obvious that this pavilion is on its way out with how much has been removed or repainted. To me WoL's current state is a blank page, a clean pallet. It holds incredible potential for something new and exciting and eventually that space will be used for a new attraction. Just give it time...

Oh yeah! I forgot two important news items...

-the EPCOT timeline at the gallery has added a photo of the rededication...

-the fog is working again at Universe of Energy!!! It's been gone since the 94 Rehab I think! It looks great and it feels just like the old one again!

Does it seem creepy walking around the gates of MGM with not many other people around? And, I didn't know you were the first to ride Soarin'! Very cool :)

Couple of answers to questions above as well as a correction:

- The projected silver fish in the Nemo queue have been there for quite some time (at least since Spring '07). Perhaps it wasn't working when you went last time? It was indeed there in Fall of '06, though.

- This is the second time in a month that Land sign as gone missing. It was there, then it wasn't, then it was, then it wasn't, and as of today it's back up.

- The pavillion between Energy and Horizons on the concept art, as I understand it, was the original Wonders of Life pavillion. There was always thought to build a health-based pavillion, but it wasn't in the budget at first.

- An eroneous error in the Epcot gallery has been fixed. The Germany poster had a picture of the Norway pavillion being constructed. An image of the Germany pavillion being constructed has now been put there. You can tell where it is if you run your hand over the top of the poster.

Great pics! The WoL ones were sad :cry:...it's slowly dying and it's making me mad/sad...if its going to go which it looks like it is just end it's misery! I wonder why they painted the Body Wars mural but did not remove the actural Body Wars sign? No more hidden mickey....:cry:

The several times I went before recently, the fish projection was only a fish or two. Almost not noticeable, but it was there.

Now it's a whole little school and they do the who charades thing. Like they added a second projector.
