Does Flik talking to nothing really seem to be noticed by the auidence?

Not really, which surprises me. Just talking to Hopper's voice in the dark.

Still a good show though, lots of applause.

And as for Kingdom Hearts in Japan I *THINK* there might be some stuff for sale, as they've just started to sell Nintendo and Video Game related stuff, they've even had some Metal Gear Solid shirts recently and they've had lots of Square Enix in the past.

Settle down!

There could be a million reason why the show proceeded without Hopper; many of which could have happen right before, or during the show.

For all we know the one before and the one after had a perfectly fine Hopper.

I know, I'm ticked.

I dunno, though, I think it's too much of a important part of the show. I know I was pretty amazed by Hopper popping out like that.:o:lol:

So what is the alternative if it was an isolated case? Get everyone seated and then shoo everyone out because 1 AA is broke?

Seeing that a old manual states for POTC to be shut down if certain effects were not working (Pirates by the well, Auctioneer, etc), I would think that the same applies here. It's a integral part of the show, and a great effect. Show > Efficiency.

That's fine, but as always we don't know what happened. Sometimes you just can't stop the show.

If the pirate breaks when a raft is passing it, do they make the guest already on the ride swim?

You can't put enough emphasis on "old"

 Jake, don't put words in my mouth. Never said it should be that extreme. But, they should maintain these things, so they don't happen. I can understand if it was a one time show fluke, but we will never know if it was. Seeing that, and basing it on the situation, like any person would, it's bad show, and I hope they fixed it. Either way...something they should work on.

Yeah, seeing that the older it is, the more they adhere to the Show> Efficiency rule.

Things just break sometimes. Sometimes you can't "work on it".

All the maintainance in the world didn't help the poacher's jeep getting struck by lightning. But according to your standards, if you didn't see it then it was broke and that is unacceptable bad show and the company's fault.

That's not fair and only set you up for dissatisfaction.

Sorry, while I'm not extremist cause' I love how awesome these things are and don't mind when they break, I wouldn't go so far as to say a large amount of money and time couldn't fix things like the Jeep, and that they shouldn't try.

It was an extreme example, but one that I was familiar with having worked on Safaris.

The Jeep got struck by lightining on an almost daily basis. They finally just had to give up on that effect because it was impossible to keep it up, due to the circuits getting fried or whatever Jeep track thing they had back there. They tried for at least 4 years (park opening and they had given up in 2002), but had to admit defeat.

On the opposite end of that spectrum is the tilting bridge. They worked for 2 years getting the sensor adjusted to the brushes that hang down on the safari trucks that prevent animals from darting under them (they weren't there originally), but they got it to work and that show element returned. There were long stretches where the tilting bridge didn't work at all.

Another example, Little Red was also struck by lightning and it's face melted off. Seeing the baby elephant at the end is the climax of the chase. Should they shut the whole ride down, just for that one show element? They quickly installed curtains on the poacher jeep and ramped up the elephant sounds until we could get a new face for Little Red.

They should always strive to have every show element working, but just because it's not doesn't mean that a) it's not being worked on, b) the ride must immeadiately close.

However, armchair managing and making sweeping statements such as "they should maintain these things", which implies that they don't, when there are absolutely no facts other than one report of an AA not working only demonstrates a snap judgement based on nothing more than a sterotype of Disney management purpetrated by the online community. That sterotype is earn in some cases, but is applied too liberally and quickly without supporting facts.

Of course, if you go back next week and Hopper is still not working, I'll gladly retract my assertion that it is possibly a one time fluke that you experienced. I'm just not going to call for heads to roll and wring my hands when there is no evidence to support it.

Which they should, and as best as they can. However, if things are beyond their control, like in all the situations here, like I said, they should do their best to fix it and make the show complete again. However, there was a report a few weeks ago that Hopper was MIA...again.

Stereotype?:lol: There's a reason for most...and they are based in general truths. Do you really think that this is a burning issue for them? I doubt it...especially with what we know about management.those can be supporting facts from the right point of view.

Not calling for head to role, nor wringing my hands, I refuse to get that angry over Disney. Just calling for better quality.
