EPCOT's Original Night Time Show

I have been reading some old issues of Starlog magazine. When Epcot was getting ready to open, one of their writers went to a press preview and wrote a series of article about it, you can find them in these issues:

One of the interesting things in the article was a description of the first night time show Epcot had. Here is what is described in the article:

"A number of large rear-projection screens float on barges in the lagoon. And soon, with a burst of music and light, the show begins. Great works of art and foreign scenes are rear-projected onto the
floating screens, while lights and fireworks are triggered in time with the music"

Does anyone know any more about this show? @marni1971?

Carnival de Lumiere. It ran mid October 1982 until New World Fantasy in 1984.

I've some photos somewhere, but it was more like the EWP with pyro. Viewing was limited to the area between Canada and Mexico.

Nice find btw :)

Thanks. It is cool to read someone's first reactions to the original EPCOT written at the time of the visit. I am also jealous of the authors opportunity to ride Spaceship Earth with Ray Bradbury, now that would have been a great upcharge!
