Epcot's Holidays Around the World shortened for 2013

Just when you thought Epcot had already stripped their holiday offerings to the bone, they have managed to cut even more for 2013. The Holidays Around the World for 2013 are from November 29 to December 30. This is compared to November 23 to December 30 for 2012. This of course means less special edition Reflections of Earth, less Candlelight Processional, and less Holiday Storytellers.

It's always the day after Thanksgiving-the holiday slipped later in the calendar this year. I don't think this is a cut, but lord knows in sure there will be some
Seems to make no sense connecting Holidays Around the World to thanksgiving in the USA. The other parks will have started up all their offerings as normal, and Epcot itself will be fully decorated way before Thanksgiving. But you are right, Epcot is waiting until after Thanksgiving to start.

I believe this has more to do with the timing of Thanksgiving this year than cutting their offerings. I know it's easy to be cynical, but I believe Holidays around the World has always started the day after Thanksgiving and run through December 30th. Since Thanksgiving falls very late this year (November 28th), thus the later start.

For reference, you can go back to 2008 and see when Thanksgiving was late in November that Epcot's holiday offerings didn't start until November 28th that year.

Understood on Thanksgiving being late, but it seems we have lost nearly an entire week of the holiday entertainment, yet the park will be completely decorated.

Google "Lights of Winter Epcot" or something similar. Take that as a starting point of one of the major decorations they got rid of a few years ago and haven't done nearly anything equivalent to replace it. (Despite them still sitting in the parking lot in shrink wrap as of Jan.)
Maybe it's a time capsule in the parking lot. You can't bury anything in FL b/c of the water table. Come 2028, the Lights of Winter will be unwrapped and magically reappear b/t Future World and World Showcase.
