Unless they figure out a way to move those barges, people will talk negatively about the show no matter what. Those oil mining rigs severely impact the feel of world showcase during the day.

Yup - so many people were set to hate the show before they even saw it just b/c of the barges bring visible during the day

Personally I didn't mind them - though would like to see something more 360 for the center piece (be it like a globe or a circular water curtain, etc)

I find this hard to believe that Disney admitted the mistake. Totally unlike them.
Agree the taco's are not going anywhere, nor is the gate. So not sure what they will do to fix it...

Ehhh…

I though it was overblown. Then I was forced to watch it twice…once from dead front and dead back…and it didn’t “overperform”

The kraken hate isn’t able to at all to my longing eyes tell me this is the “Iger and WDI NEVER suck”

Yeah…they do/did quite a lot. This was a sucky miss.

As evidenced by a one year plug. We know that’s a major catastrophe for them

I have little doubt they’re gonna repackage it though…bad management has them repackaging and shoving failed product back out more and more…because the consumer base (wdw) has no spine. Why not exploit that?

Fully agree this is a repackage. That is what Disney is, take existing rides and just reface and say LOOK what I DID

Just don't know how repackaging those awful taco's and the gate will do, those totally limit the impact of the show due to limited views.

You've got to be kidding. Sightlines are a legitimate issue with the show. It doesn't matter how many screens there are flacking the middle barge, people want to see the entire show and not feel like they're missing out.

If the content is better, I'll shut up for a bit at least. It can't get much worse then what it is now.

What they announced is almost embarrassingly, cynically…”minor”

The little things are fine…but they have a bigtime capacity problem in the US parks and they just made their intentions to sit on it for more years known. And they’ll blame us.

This was the big test for me. The pace of development after roughly a decade of neglect had sped up in recent years. But we're nearing the end of that well. They needed to come out strong with some new announcements that would be ready for 2024-2026 or so, and they whiffed. The blue sky stuff was cool to see, but when they couch something as "blue sky", the chances of it happening are, in my view, < 10%.

But as it is right now, WDW is going to stagnate just when they've addressed that decade of neglect and have the opportunity to meaningfully add capacity.

Because if it's possible, I'm sure it will be during our trip.

I mean at least Fantasmic! will be opened by then worst-case.

No reason we should. Harmonious concept art had drone barges. Just very hidden and not the center of the art.

Who got stuck having to explain to Chapek that his fireworks idea failed miserably? Or did they offer up a scapegoat for this costly train wreck? At least the castle show is a relatively easy switch.

I’m honestly shocked they threw in the towel on these shows. It’s the right call but they make the wrong call so often.

If sightlines are getting better.........Is a EF type show first and then the Real Show? Or can Epcot Change out Harm's Hardware for the new stuff just overnignt? Would be nice if Epcot kept a Fountain System, not, not use it like EF.........

I don't Fault MK for the 50th Cavalcade. Real Parades weren't back yet. If somehow FOF returned before the 50th, this would be a different story.......

Thank God SSE's Beacon was not cut!!!!!!!!!! I don't remember if Epoct started that project before COVID or not?

There will be fireworks every night at Epcot. Joshie will do an interpretive dance with sparklers if need be. To “September”, of course.
