Epcots 2015 mystery project?

I hope it involves the Imagination Pavilion. I love Epcot to death, but there is truly no imagination in Imagination. Quite depressing. I also kind of hope for a possible Energy Adventure replacement. Maybe multiple dark ride attractions instead of one 45 minute attraction. Way too long.

I think its safe of all the rumours - Soarin will be getting a reboot. Apparently, it will become a movie about soarin over the world which would be phenomenal - there is so much opportuntiy there. I am sure it is expensive though as disney would have to film the reels themselves. Many think a new country is abound - I am not 100 percent sure on that. WS seems to be perfectly fine where it stands. FW is the problem it is an absolute mess.

The rumor was started by Jerry Rees during an interview on The Season Pass Podcast. He is primarily a director and his project history points towards a film, especially when the short time frame is considered. There are other threads about this where it has been discussed.

Well it could be anything. I feel that Wonders of Life could be transformed into just about anything. Imagination could definitely use a lot of work. Bring back Jeremy Irons is Spaceship Earth. Level Test Track and start over from scratch. There is space for a few more countries as well.

And I would say enough of the DVC.

What everyone seems to forget is that it isn't all that simple to fill a space in World Showcase. The main reason is because the countries have to pay for their own pavilion and it's upkeep. Unlike rides and attractions that don't focus on one specific country, where losing sponsorship only means that Disney has to decide if they want to continue it or not. When a pavilion promotes a specific country, how does Disney then support one and not the rest? They cannot just arbitrarily decide that they want to have, let's say, Russia in there and build a pavilion and promote Russia. That would upset all the other countries that are expected to share heavily in the expense of the pavilion. It doesn't benefit Disney to want countries in there that might be a politically sensitive location that would result in problems.

The problem is that no country wants to spend the money to have a pavilion at a permanent World Fair anymore. The political climate and the economic realities make that a losing situation for any leadership to try to spend money on. When EPCOT was built it, first of all, had a completely different feel to it. It was pushing advancing technology that many countries wanted to be associated with. On top of that it was the 80's the world economy was strong and nations were willing to promote themselves more. Unless and until the world becomes a happier place and politics allows the countries to spend money on frivolous things like WDW, you will not see more countries in WS, no matter how many letters are sent to management. I think we should be holding our breath in the hopes that the ones that are there continue to feel it is worthwhile. What happens if they decide to pull out. Is Disney going to be able to take a country to court, in the US, and have it mean anything? What would they do, send Sheriffs with arrest warrants and jail the entire nation if they don't pay up.:D

I'm not privy to information, but it wouldn't surprise me if Disney has had to make across the board concessions just to keep them all there.
