EPCOT with scooter-bound dad

I hope this doesn't turn into another "scooter thread," but I have a very specific question.

We'll be visiting EPCOT soon, and our plan is to rent a scooter at the park entrance for my 82 year old dad. Aside from the anxious moments watching him as he tries to drive the thing, I'd really like him to ride Soarin' with me, my daughter and few other family members. How does the whole "scooter party" thing work at the Soarin' queues? There will be maybe 6 or 7 of us total. Do we go to the fastpass return line to talk to a CM? Would he ride his scooter all the way up to the boarding area? What happens to his scooter?

Please note that Soarin' is the only ride we'll be scooterfying...we're not trying to buck the system here...suffice it to say that dad won't be riding Test Track with us. :)

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure a scooter can use the normal Stand By line, or you could get FPs and avoid that.

Once you're at the ride, they'll load you the same way as everyone else. Your dad can drive right up to the seat and transfer over. They'll drive his scooter off to the side and you can either retrieve it after the ride or if he can walk the short distance he can retrieve it himself.

If you stop by Guest Relations on your way in, they can give you a list of which rides are scooter accessible and how difficult transferring is.

Thanks! I didn't stop to remember just how wide the Soarin' queue lines are. There shouldn't be any problems with him driving/waiting down those wide corridors.

As for him driving up to glider seat, he can walk that far with no problems...it's just the idea of walking around the park for hours (or standing in a line for 75 minutes) that makes us want to get the scooter for him.

As someone who's worked very closely with Soarin', both the Standby and Fastpass lines are, indeed, fully wheelchair and ECV-accessible. Thus, guests in wheelchairs may wait in the normal standby line with the rest of their party, unless the guests have decided to use Fastpass.

Keep in mind that you'll need to used the elevator to get to the lower floor of The Land. It's located to the left of the Garden Grill.
