Hi All,

My friend and I will be spending one full day at the parks in May. We want to try to watch both Wishes and Illuminations. Last year we accomplished this but barely made it to MK on the monorail. Anyone have any recommendations for the fastest way?

thanks!

Watch Illuminations from the west side of the lagoon, France to Canada, then hoof it out the International Gateway to the Beach Club bus stop. Can't be much longer, if not shorter, than the walk from the lagoon to the Epcot Monorail. Take said bus all the way to the bus loop at the MK which saves you from transferring from the Epcot monorail loop to either other monorail loop or ferry.

depends entirely on where you watch it. if you're across the lagoon from America, take a monorail. If you're Anywhere between Italy and Canada, duck out the back and take a bus. You don't want to swim upstream too far, nor dyou want to wait in a mile long line for a monorail.

We tried this the other night and missed the first monorail from Epcot by about 3 people. So we were pretty much notgoing to make it. So when we got to the TTC we actually took the ferry over and saw most of the show from the boat. It was kind of pretty but we did miss hearing the music with it.

Bypass Disney transport. Follow what ABQ says but use Uber to get to the MK. Yeah, a little costlier but if you time the request just right, you can walk right out of BC and into the car. No variance in relying on the bus sched.

Uber is a great option, my only hesitation in recommending it is that it can only get you as far as the TTC, can it not? Which means dealing with the ferry or monorail. However, come to think of it, can you get the Uber to take you from the BC to the CR? Then just walk? That's a good option, if possible.

Thanks for all the options. I think we are going to try to use uber. Should we try for one from Epcot or walk over to Boardwalk?

Beach Club, closer than any other location Uber can get to. Boardwalk wouldn't be much father, but the uber will have to go through more traffic signals en route to MK, I think.

I watched both of them from the eighth floor balcony on a International Drive Hotel. Here's the snag in your plan though. Certain times of the year, they are run at exactly the same time (when I saw them) so seeing both might just be impossible unless you are cloned.

When I was a kid living in SoCal, I had and aunt & uncle that lived about 20 miles from Disneyland. Whenever we would visit them we'd be sure to be out on the street right at 9pm, when we could stand in the middle of the street and have a straight shot at the DL fireworks. Very cool!
