Saw this on ebay:
"And cruising in from Disney's California Adventure comes Soarin', an exhilarating, high-flying attraction at Epcot that gives the sensation of hang-gliding over the Pacific coast's most amazing wonders. Also at Epcot, preview the 11th wonder of the Disney Theme Park world opening September 12, 2005, at the Hong Kong Disneyland Preview Center."

And will be appearing at the China Pavilion come May 5. And the weird thing is, the model will be ACTUAL SIZE! (Apologizes for tasteless stab at current Disney management's penny-pinching)

11th wonder of the Disney Theme Park World...that's debatable...I'm sure the gardens and parades will be nice, since that's all Disney claims the Chinese market cares about in a theme park...

They might as well host the preview center for Hong Kong Disneyland. They seem to be hosing most of the Hong Kong Disneyland employees that are training here. Or maybe I just seem to see more of them over there. It is pretty cool, though, since they can't really be trained in Hong Kong, with noplace open to train at yet.

This park is sort of scaring me. I hope it appeals to the people of hong Kong as much as Disney says it will. If it doesn't, this is going to be the biggest flop ever.

I don't think it will be a flop at all. If you look at the numbers no matter what the park will have high attendance. You can not open the first theme park of its kind in a country that large and not have it do well. We don't go to DCA because we have DL, people don't go to AK (not saying they have low numbers) because they have MK or MGM...heck even TDS has lower numbers because they have TDL. People didn't go to DLP because it was a bad idea, amazing looking park but bad idea. But China does not have anything so what else are they going to do?

Actually many people go to Disneyland Paris, It is the most visited park in Europe. Attendance wise it is higher than AK, Epcot, and DS. Its attendance is actually more than USF and IOA combined, and right about the same as TDS. The real problem out in France is hotel occupancy and the flawed WDSP.

It certainly did - a large part again due to the hotels. So not to have another Harbour Blvd. or International Drive situation, TWDC built 6 hotels for day 1 - including the biggest in Europe - which alone cost $1.1BILLION. Eager to recoup costs, original prices for everything were set too high, and the problems began. Add an economic slump, bad math by TWDC for revenue projections and the phase 1 cost of $4Billion becomes a problem.

The resort today is doing great (with its 1 and a half parks) but the initial debt from opening is still dragging it down. One day....
