I am not sure if this have been answered somewhere here before so forgive me.

I have changed some of my plans for our trip in two weeks in order to squeeze in as much for my two to experience. Including both fireworks events at HS. To accomplish this I thought one day we could start at Epcot and then make our way to HS.

I would like ask those who have much more WDW experience than I as to the best way to get from Epcot to HS. I am presuming the buses are not the best method. I understand there is a path. I believe there is a boat, correct me if I am wrong.

Would walking or taking the boat be the easiest?

Which would be the quickest?

And how long would each take?

Thank you,

There is a walking path and boat from the International Gateway at Epcot to DHS. Both take about 20-30 minutes, but the boat trip could be longer if you have to wait for it. I personally enjoy the boat ride and like to save my walking for the parks.

The red line is the boat, which makes three stops between Epcot and DHS. The blue line is the walking path. I believe there is a way to cut through the Boardwalk Resort for a slightly shorter route.

Thank you for the information. It does make things clearer for this first timer. I knew I had heard about a walkway. I was giving 40 minutes for the trek. I guess I overestimated. but this is good in order give us more time to make it to our first show at HS. :)

thank you.

Just check the weather! Once when we took the boat, a nasty storm kicked in. They stopped the boat and we had to get off at the Swan/Dolphin and wait forever for a bus. We tried again this trip and almost had the same thing happen. My husband didn't want to risk it for a third time so we actually took a bus. Not as appealing as a boat, but much, much faster and is storm-friendly.

If you're ending your stay at Epcot while in Future World, it's a better choice to catch the bus from the front of the park rather than walk all the way through the park to get the boat or walk from there.

But if you're already in World Showcase, definitely use the International Gateway route. (And the walking shortcut mentioned is to turn in at the lawn in the middle of the Boardwalk, and then cut through the main pool area. Saves 3-5 minutes depending on your walking speed)

I normally use the path between the two parks to get a run in during my crazy vacation schedule but I doubt most people share that sentiment. It's a pretty long walk but during peak hours it could be faster than waiting for the boat.

The boats also take forever to dock at the International Gateway in my experience.

It's a great walk. It's a nice boat ride. It really depends on your feet and legs. If they're tired and need a break, enjoy the boat. Otherwise, you will almost always beat the boat by walking.

Walking is by far the fastest way to get between the two parks in my opinion.

You wait for no boats or buses. You just go.

It's quite easy to make that walk within 20 minutes.

The path @danlb_2000 laid is correct, though cutting through the Boardwalk pool area cuts off time as well. You can even duck off through the tennis courts & go up through the main entrance of the resort if you'd like.

The walking path is one of the biggest advantages & underused to get between EPCOT & the Studios.
