it didnt' matter what beam we were on. lol the worst part was monorail black was teh first one we rode on the first day to the MK from the poly, then a few days later we had to ride it again to Epcot lol. the horse stable discripton winterparkbaby gave is much more accurate than the dirty diaper

I am so very, very confused...and intrigued.

Well it is another day so I will tell the story if you like....it kinda goes along with the "the animals are playing line".

I was in the Living Seas one day and I was in the spot where you could see the dolphins swimming by in the tank. I was there watching along with other guests among whom was a father and his young son. We were all there enjoying the show when a very "excited" boy dolphin swam by with a hoola hoop caught around its waist. (if you catch my meaning) Well this little boy must of been about 4 or 5 years old and when he saw this he asked in his loudest voice "Daddy, what is that!?!" Now this turned the father beet red and he desperatly tried to turn the litte boy away from this site and get him out of there to end this totally embarrasing moment. Now this boy should of played professional sports because they would take one step away and the boy would spin and turn back to the dolphin and the adjoined hoola hoop. This happened several times each time the boy asking as loudly as he could "Daddy, what is that!?!" and each time the father getting more and more desperate to get out of there. The father was finally able to get the boy away from the site much to his relief.

Now what do we all think a cast memeber would of said to that little boys question beyond..."the dolphin is playing"??

The stench in the monorail has grown stronger now after the hurricanes of this past season. The number of decaying trees in the wetlands below the monorail line is probably part of that bad smell. It seems to come through the AC vent as you are traveling and the smell probably sticks in the interior with so many trips back and forth. It is especially strong as you are leaving MK for Epcot.

Actually, I was visiting Epcot that week and I did at times, but not so much that it was horrible. And if they were making a Stitch stench, I hope they wouldn't keep it there since the attraction opened (ahaha)

Ya know when I was at Epcot a few weeks ago, I walked past Odyssey on my way to the World Showcase. The smell was lingering and so strong that I actually checked my shoe to see if I'd stepped in poo. :hurl:

The handles on the Splash Mountain vehicles were replaced during the last rehab.

The previous handle material held a lot of moisture so consequently they started to get moldy and smell bad.
I always carry anti-bacterial hand lotion when I go to WDW because of things like this.

The new handles, however are made of plastic and don't retain moisture so they don't stink anymore.

The fact that they keep the AC blasting seems to sear in the smell all day long.
maybe somebody ______'d into the ac unit on top on the monorail. it works on cars and is a mean joke. maybe a monorail maintenance man got mad..... or was working and had to go really bad and couldnt hold it. always a possiblity........ :p

That actually seems like a logical explaination. As trees decay they grow mold and fungus on them and begin to break down, emitting a wet dog/moldy feet type of smell. Also WDW does sit directly in a wetlands swamp type area which produce similar type of foul odors as well. As a matter of fact stagnant swamp water emits some of the worst odors I have ever smelled. This could definately explain a majority of the odors people are describing here. Since there are acres of downed decaying trees, depending on the wind flow on any given day the smell could be stronger at any of the parks. And since the monorial passes directly over many of the downed trees and swamp areas, the air intake could be pulling in a lot of that smell and holding it in the cabins.

Stench around bridge

There has been an aweful stench around the bridge going from showcase plaza to the innoventions area ever since I can remember...I don't know if it is still there...:hurl:

The Kali River Rapids boats were nasty last time I rode, as well. The formerly orange seats were speckled black...I put on my poncho if only not to get it on my clothes :hurl:

And I still have a tanktop stained with Jungle Cruise water...ew...

I can confirm the smell was fertilizer at epcot. any epcot CM would know this to be true. it was mostly backstage areas being fertilized, odyssey center, cast services, maybe some east side countries, maybe everything. the smell was most noticable from germany to test track on the east side. and many guests complained that it followed them, and cast members like myself in future world north had a delay on the smell. I do remember it was particularly hazy that night which could explain that lack of dissapation into the air, the delay, and the extremely strong concentration of smell on the east side.
