Epcot Rumor Thread

Epcot's next darkride (whenever that may be) obviously cant be a replica of Horizons, but I do think a ride similar to the original Horizons with modern effects and ideas would do wonders for Epcot's lost Future World theming. It would also serve as a positve and inspirational look into the future which is what most of America needs and would want right now. A collection of thrill rides and an attraction similar to Horizons would certainly appeal to an even more diverse crowd and bring back the feeling of inspiration Epcot brought in the late 80's early 90's.

I tend to agree too, but what is fustrating is M:S and Horizons could have co-existed.

Bingo!

Not sure how it would have been outdated. It touched on lots of technology that we haven't seen yet. Orange groves in the desert? hovercrafts? Space travel in your own private rocket pod? Under water cities? How is that out of date?

Not sure it's more advanced. Perhaps in computing power.....

I'd argue that it has less broad appeal. Horizons was a family ride from the get go that challenged your imagination. It wasn't a glorified flight sim centerfuge, that made grandma, grandpa and the littles one wait at the exit.

Heck, they used to Narrate...:lookaroun:lol:
