Park Planning/Epcot Restaurants

Ok, I'm planning a trip for March 3-6th, staying at Pop Century. I plan on going to MGM Friday, Epcot Saturday, and Magic Kingdom Sunday.

I want to take my girlfriend to a nice, somewhat upscale restaurant in Epcot. I already made a reservation for Chefs de France--I just want some feedback on that place, or any additional advice on restaurants within the theme parks.

Also, does my itinerary seem ok? I know some of you are masters at trip planning. I saw this one site that had 'crowd index' and what parks would be best on each day of the week--that's how I came up with MGM on Friday, Epcot on Saturday and Magic Kingdom on Sunday...

I'm going to be asking tons of questions in the next couple weeks, so be prepared! Thank you in advance for your responses!

I love Morocco's dinner menu! :) it's super yummy! But Le Chefs is great too - take a look at the menu's and decide what y'all like best... both atmosphere's are great!

I've done Le Chefs several times and think that its great! If your looking for something romantic this probably would not be my choice though.

Well Bistro is more romantic, right? But they have a dress code, and I don't feel like wearing nice clothes to the theme park all day (and i don't want to go back to the hotel and change...wastes time)

Bistro is not only more romantic, it is exorbitantly overpriced. I have eaten there, the food is good, but as someone who goes to Paris a few times a year, this restaurant does not live up to the best of French cuisine. Chefs is, however, not very romantic - it is loud and bustling. It is also not cheap, but nowhere near the upstairs restaurant whre you will pay 3 to 5 times what you pay downstairs. Le Cellier Steakhouse is a bit more intimate although not necessarily romantic. . However, if you insist on something romantic, try Coral Reef inside the Living Sea - you get beautiful views of the fish swiming around you, and it is a lovely restaurant - one caveat: it is somewhat weird to eat seafood while the relatives of your dinner circle around you in the tank. It is, however, more romantic than Chefs.

Le Cellier seems, for lack of a better word, boring. It's a steakhouse--I can get that anytime here in South Florida.

Coral Reef only had a 4:50 reservation, which is way too early.

Chefs of France would be my choice. What about Alfredo di Roma or the Mexican restaurant?

Actually Le Cellier is more than a steakhouse - it's some of the best dining in Epcot...Alfredo di Roma is beautifully decorated, the food is an upscale Olive Garden...San Angel Inn is interesting - the food is good, the atmosphere loud, but you get all the neat effects of the volcano and the lighting and whatnot - that might be an interesting choice, although it is usually packed with parents with young kids as it is at the cheaper end of the sit-down dining options-- Of the options that leaves you that you are looking at then, if you were to rate them in terms of "Romance" I would say:
a) Alfredo de Roma
b) San Angel Inn
c) Chefs de France
If you are looking at quality of food, I would say
a) Chefs de France
B) Alfredo de Roma
c) San Angel Inn
If you are looking at overall romance and are willing to play with your options yet not spend an arm and a leg, I would say
a) Coral Reef
b) Le Cellier
c) Aldredo di Roma
Chefs de France is designed to be similar to a street-side cafe in Paris - i.e. crowded, loud, people sit very near one another, the emphasis is on people watching, not romance.

Hmm...So Alfredo seems like a nice choice, right? Not over the top expensive, a little romantic, decent food...

I'll look into it more.

Alright, so...

Friday, March 3rd--MGM (and maybe AK)
Saturday, March 4th--Magic Kingdom
Sunday, March 5th--Epcot

Does that sound good? I need some experts to tell me if I chose the best days to visit each park. I want to enjoy the experience and get a chance to visit as many rides, events and shows as possible with my girlfriend.

Just wanted to throw this in...
Our favorite restaurant in EPCOT is definitely Restaurant Marrakesh, though I will admit there are several we have yet to try. If you haven't penciled in your plans, I highly recommend it.
Also, Mama Melrose's is great in MGM, and another idea you might want to consider is trying one of the restaurants in the WDW Resort areas.

Your daily schedule looks good, but I would make SURE you get to AK! Especially so that you can do the highlights----EE, Lion King, Safari! When you are doing a day with 1/2 day in one park and 1/2 day in another park, make sure that you know when you want to leave the first park or you'll tend to "top heavy" your day.

I'd recommend going to AK in the morning so that you can end up at MGM for the evening (and Fantasmic!). Also, what is your ticketing? You can save $35/person by NOT doing park hopping (ie only doing one park per day). Since you only have 3 days, I think it is worth the $70 total so that you can see all four parks! ;)

Also, Alfredos is the best!!! I also really like the Biergarten Buffet at Germany, but it is exactly romantic. Biergarten is very, very fun and you can polka together to the live band!!! Those are my two favorite Epcot restaurants.

The only draw back to Alfredo de Roma when I went was that they really crowded people in, but the food was very good.

For cool atmosphere and great food (but a little more money) Coral Reef is tough to beat so long as you make a reservation early enough. The wait staff was also the best of any WDW restaurant I've visited.

Restaurant Marrakesh is great and I've been able to walk in when other WS restaurants had long lines. The belly dancer was entertaining, as was watching a lot of guys trying to look as much as possible without being caught by thier girlfriends and wives.:lookaroun

 Exactly why I did not recommend this restaurant to someone who wanted a romantic dinner.

Chef de France has excellent food, it is one of my favorite restaurants. The other is Le Cellier, it is not just another steakhouse, it another very good steakhouse, but for me I could eat steak all the time so I happen to really like it, not to mention their pretzel bread and they have some wonderful appetizers. Also, Le Cellier isn't as noisy as some of the other restaurants, like Alfredo's which I found very noisy. Coral Reef the last time I was there which was a while ago, I didn't care for the food or service. San Angel Inn is nothing terrific, it's a glorified Chevy's. Nine Dragon's in China has good food and is a bit more quiet, it's not your average chinese restaurant.

Le Cellier - One of our favs

We have eaten at pretty much every restuarant in Epcot and my husband must eat at Le Cellier at least once every visit.

Yes, its considered a steakhouse but the food is fantastic and for us its a must!
On our last trip there in November we actually got shut out and my husband complained the whole 15 hour drive home.

Other fav's @ Epcot

Coral Reef- expensive though
San Angel's Inn
Alfredo's

We just ate for the first time on our last trip in jan. at Le Cellier and it is now are favorite Epcot restaurant already booked again for monday feb 20th for lunch. Atmosphere was nice & much quiter than some of the other places to eat and the food is wonderful, not just any old steakhouse. Was not impressed with Alfredo's food and it was very noisy. San Angel has nice atmosphere but the food is just so so. We also like Nine Dragons but some others on here are not impressed by their food but we like it. Enjoy your trip!

I would not recommend dining in Mexico. It is too crowded, tables against one another and, the food is so-so. But, maybe thats because I'm from Calif. where we have real Mexicans! A pleasant suprise on the last trip was dining in England. We sat outside, very nice. The food was good. +2. And our server was extra friendly. Very, very nice.
