We all know about Epcot’s problems here. I have decided to tackle the idea of my true armchair imagineering ideas. After recognizing the problems of Epcot and finding them out. The rules of this evolution is that it is 1) Big budget 2) Has to be realistic and 3) I must have fun doing this. These ideas will be my new standard as I dive into great detail into everything. Also after doing lots of research on what the park is.
Epcot “Evolution”
Name: EPCOT World Center:
Epcot FutureWorld/ Tech Expo:
The name FutureWorld has confused some people who have not been to the parks before as when most people think future, they think the future that Tomorrowland features but with the name change to “Tech Expo” where the latest of Tech that is just beyond the “Horizon” will be featured to give a glimpse of the future. All pavilions will stay the same but will be overhauled.
Epcot Spine (Innoventions):
The new spine will feature a new and improved Spaceship Earth with the ball part being enlarged to allow for more snow scenes to show how communication has advanced better and even end off with the possible future as what the new Tech Expo will feature. The two triangular buildings on both sides of Spaceship Earth will feature A) a show that can be replaced every half decade talking about the future of technology and where it could go and that will be around ~15 minutes. B) a walk through attraction featuring technology from sponsors like AT&T could do something and etc. Then leading out of the entry plaza there is a brand new centerpiece area called the EPCOT complex. It will feature the centerpiece building from Walt’s original EPCOT idea to pay respect. The bottom part while feature a EPCOT dining experience where guests can see the food being made with brand new techniques. There will be a Mouse Gear shop, a new Pin trader section and a brand new Club Cool because I love that place. Then the top part is a hotel which will be like how Cinderella’s castle can be a hotel. It won’t feature many rooms but rooms will be based off of different countries or Pavilions inside of EPCOT. Then to the East side of the complex is a two story building housing the new and improved Horizons ride. An Omnimover showing the history, evolution of technology and what possibly could be on the “Horizon” (had to do that and yes there will be a Robo Butler cameo). Now we shall enter Tech Expo West.
The Seas Pavilion:
The seas will completely change. The whole pavilion will either be apart of an orb like structure that was inspired by Port Disney and a canapé on the outside parts. This pavilion will have a weird futuristic style architecture but will reuse the Lost Port Disney idea. Outside of it there will be a small moat with bridges leading to the pavilion. Outside there will be a submarine, the submarine from 20,000 Leagues as a reference to the Lost attraction. There will be a staircase going downwards that will lead inside of the sun for a underwater dining experience inside of Captain Nemo’s submarine with fish and even the giant octopus going by. Then inside of the orb is a giant aquarium with lots of interactive and fun things to do while you hide from the sun. There will be a sushi snack bar and a Turtle Talk with Crush from DHS. You could also ride the Crush coaster (ported from Paris) next to the talk area which will take guests on a journey through the EAC. Then under the canapé is a shark tank (with a shark tunnel). There will also be a flat ride called “The Flying Fish” where guests get to ride inside of flying fish in a circular pattern (Dumbo). There will be lots to do as this mostly will be a Aquarium with fun things for kids to do.
The Land Pavilion:
The building will be sized up as Soari’n will be changed to a better one with smoother transitions but with the amazing score. A new theater will be added so there can be more capacity. The land will feature a lot about the geology of the earth with the spinning dinner staying but being pushed to the back of the complex. Living with the Land will become a PotC style ride. The story will feature how plants evolve with the beginning taking guests through varied environments with self grown plants that the park actually grows which soon turns to the bug snapper plants. The ride shows many plants as the boats from Pirates are used. There will be a few drops but not major as some of the environments have different elevations. Some plants will be grown by the park and harvested. The ride will be around ~20 long and takes up most of the Land. Some of the environments can be a walk through attraction where guests can see the boat ride. A large crystal structure will be in the front as a reference to what the Land was going to be.
Imagination Pavilion:
I kind of have to, the Imagination pavilion will change partly as a third glass pyramid is built and the theatre gets changed to feature another ride. In an observatory tower on the east side of the building holds Journey into Imagination: Dreamfinder’s Quest. This will reimagine and put all past version to shame as the jolly Dreamfinder returns with a better Figment. Together they journey through the Wonders of Imagination while Figment gets taught on Imagination. This ride will use a train style coaster system but will feel like guests are soaring on toP of the clouds while using their Imagination as Figment becomes likable again. Then the rest of the whole complex will become a fun indoors playground with the most interactive and fun things to do. Guests will get also meet Figment and the Dreamfinder and get some merch at the Imagination site (generic). The ride will be much bigger and will take up two floors.
Energy Pavilion:
The GotG coaster will still exist but will be called Guardians of the Galaxy: Infinite Universe (rumored name for actual ride). Will feature mist of the stuff the actual ride will feature except some inversions and will be a bit bigger. The ride will have long trains and will feature the spinning mechanism as well. The next thing is that this ride is not the only GotG thing, a Xander grill will be inside of the building as the queue will go around the small eating area. It is a simple food market as tables will be outside.
Play Pavilion:
Will take up more space then Disney is using for this pavilion. There will be many shows and interactive things to do with a black box attraction there which will be switched out every other month to another IP so things don’t exactly get stale.
Space Pavilion:
Mission Space will be given an overhaul to have more capacity and realism. The same mission will be done (go to mars) but will feature the technology that SWGE uses for the Falcon ride. Guests operate a space shuttle together (6 people) the ride will not feature the motion that the previous one did that made lots of people sick. They would get to control where they go and what they do as there are separate ways they can go. The ride can vary from ~5 to ~13 minutes as it is a multiple choice one. There are two pilots for up and down, left and right. Two gunners for shooting upcoming asteroids or other things (not aliens). Engineers which must fix the ship and help with some other things. Each person is tested as the mars canyon ending will test the pilot. The asteroid belt will test the gunners and the ship malfunctioning will test the engineers as also when they exit, the tunnel they come out of reacts to what they did like the Falcon ride. The space restaurant will be built and will feature a variety of foods.
Motion Pavilion:
Test Track will be made bigger and have more indoor sequences to test and push a cars ability to the limits as a highly advanced car is going with computer driving and etc. There will be a race at the end going around and through the building to add that thrill from RSR. The ride will be up to ~6 minutes as the testing parts are longer and the race is a huge part. They even race the other car in a rally with obstacles and thins happening to change things up. The winner is randomized.
World Showcase:
Every expansion pad for the WS will be used except for ones behind certain pavilions. There will be lots of rides and experiences to show what can happen.
Mexico:
The Donald ride is moved and replaced by Coco as the whole pavilion is upgraded to have a full on Coco theme and a restaurant. The indoor part of the building will have the atmosphere of a village of the undead. The ride will take up a lot of space (three stories) with many drops to make it be a proper wet ride. The coco theme was the only one that I think would have worked as Donald is moving to another place.
Arendale/Norway:
Disney is already doing it but I am fixing it. The whole place is changing to the world of frozen with Elsa’s Castle in the town squads and the mountain where Marshmellow and another ride is. The town square will feature many fun things to do. The castle will be home to Frozen Ver After as it is ok but with better animatronics and will clock in at around ~4 minutes long with lots of dropped and better timed effects. Then in the mountain the Sleigh coaster roads around the mountain. Guests ride around in a sleigh that goes down a path that takes guest up, down and around the mountain and into Elsa’s Old castle. It will be around ~4 minutes long and will go up higher then Spaceship Earth. The coaster will be a steal wooden hybrid. The coaster won’t be to intense as it is meant for kids. No inversions or big drops besides the big final one down the frozen waterfall.
China:
China will get a Yaghtzee river rapids ride taking them through the mountain range and going through lots of temples and running into a mythical dragon, Chinese dragon to be exact. The ride will be around ~7 minute long and feature lots of white water zones and drops and even a animatronic Dagon that is huge that can breathe fire. Then the Chinese movie will be updated and will be in a bigger theatre for more capacity as a Chinese restaurant is near it as well.
Ireland:
Ah the land of Leprechauns. Ireland will be inside of a castle with a spinning kiddie coaster called the Leprechauns journey as guests go over the rainbow and run into them and their pot of gold. The atmosphere will be amazing with the castle ruins and the leprechauns steak house and a pot of gold in the castle. This may be stupid but at least adds newer rides to eat up crowds.
Germany:
Germany will remain mostly the same with the buildings getting bigger with a newer restaurant as the Rhine River Cruise is finally built featuring what it was supposed to be. It will be what they were planning and will teach about Germany (minus Hitler and the World Wars). There will be a Beer Garden next to it as well as the Living with the Land vehicles get brought here.
Brazil:
We all know this is happening. Donald and the gang will come here with a Brazilian steakhouse and another boat ride within a mountain staring him and the three cabrellos (did I spell that right?). There will also be a small festival center where a small daily performance will be played about Brazilian festivals.
Italy:
Italy will be changed to the city in Italy, Venice. It will be a smaller version of the one in Tokyo Disney Sea and will feature a boat ride (the one from TDS). Then there will be a restaurant and a few small shops with lots of fun things to do.
America:
The hall of Presidents will change to feature more presidents and the theatre will be bigger and will have more capacity and the show will be the same length. Also where guests enter is a bigger and more modern version of the current building with a all out American grill where guests can eat and see the great America play (in America, the stupidest idea yet).
Japan:
Japan will get newer buildings with more of a Japanese feel. There will be a Japanese snack bar and a small shop. But in the square is a statue of the legendary samurais. The square leads to a building where a steel inverted coaster is present called Journey of the Samurai. It will be a coaster with high speed turns and many inversions and will be Disney’s most intense coaster. The ride will follow a samurai warrior in his journey and the ride will feature many animatronics and show scenes as the coaster will be throwing guests backwards and forwards after the show scenes.
Australia:
The Sydney harbor will be where this is and there will be an Australian food area, a giant shop but then the centerpiece is inside of the Sydney opera house. There will be a small opera in there which is more of a show with special events where maybe a special Disney play could play there or can be a play teaching about Australia, and no it won’t be upside down. Only certain people get it. This won’t feature any rides though.
Morocco:
The pavilion will mostly remain unchanged with only certain refurbs to the building as this pavilion has felt boring to me.
Switzerland:
Guests will walk through a Swiss town with a Swiss snack bar and a shop. But on the edge of the town the Matterhorn sits, awaiting for guest. The DL ride will be ported over but with added capacity and will feature a small hill behind Morocco that can’t be seen. The mountain will contain a creature that lies in the caves as the guests enter its path they must escape down the mountain on Bob sleds.
France:
The pavilion will change to fit the Ratatouille theme and will feature the restaurant from the movie and the Paris show will be upgraded. Then also a scaled down version of the Eiffel Tower will sit in the middle with an observation tower flat ride in it. The Ratatouille will still happen though.
Gondolas:
Gonna happen as the World Traveler will still exist but with different stuff. The gondolas will also still happen.
UK/England:
The area will be set to 40’s England with a Marry Poppins trackless rides where guests journey with Marry Poppins with a story on helping the kids (set between the original and MP returns). Then Christopher Robin’s apartment will be put in a town square area with a shop and a walk through attraction and a small park. The rest will be themed to the village from Marry Poppins as also the house with the canon on it will be there and will fire accordingly.
Canada:
This country will change a little bit with a Canadian shop and food stand as the O’ Canada show will still exist but will change to have Ryan Reynolds (A Canadian I think) voicing it on a journey through Canada.
Other stuff:
Agent-P world tour:
The interactive game will still exist as we are getting a revival fro P&F on D+ soon. There will be more stories and stuff to do in it as well.
EPCOT Forever:
The nighttime show will feature many characters from Epcot rides in a spectacular using projections and water fountains and not to mention the amazing fireworks.
EPCOT Parade:
This parade will circle around World Showcase and around each Tech Expo pavilions with floats for each pavilion and a Epcot marching band with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy in EPCOT outfits. Each pavilion will get unique floats with the characters or things on it in it.
