Epcot lasers question?

Yah, Id have to say there isnt much comparison as to how much a laser power supply uctually requires to run as opposed to the light output power. The supply can require several hundred volts and the amperage can be insane.. Then there is the output of the power supply to fire the laser which is in the sever hundred thousand volt range with whatever comperable amperage, to have the laser put out 25Watts of actual light in a very precision beam pattern which makes it much more intense than looking at your average 25Watt light bulb. I hope this clears up some things.:animwink:

OK just checked with my info from the Illum crew, and certainly back in the days of IllumiNations 25, the lasers were running at 20 watts for the show, but were rated at a max of 30 watts. At that time, the Center for Devices and Radiological Health, and the FAA, were limiting the output to 20 watts. This may or may not still be the case.
