Over a year to paint and put a roof on? :brick: I guess the workers are looking for job security.

It is really hard to beleive that nothing more than a paint job is going on with the Japan pavillion.

i agree, i guess we'll just have to wait and see. i would really like to see something new in world showcase

Thanks for the responses... while I don't put it past simply being a paint job, it has been going on way too long for something like that. The roof might make sense, however the building would be flooded with the time they're taking.
And the roof and such a prolonged painting of the building wouldn't require draining of the moat, which has been empty for months now. Maybe I'll have to head up there this weekend and get "lost" looking for a bathroom around there.

I agree with that. But what else could it be? Everybody here has given a lot of good ideas to what could be going on, but it really is a mystery.

At first I wasn't too concerned, but the tarps over Japan have been up the past two times I went to Disney, maybe even three. I'm really anxious to know what's going on.

Sorry to kill your optimism, but I drive past there every day, and there isn't anyhting going on.
just painting, roofing, and re-tiling.

Thanks for your input. Since you drive past there every day, do you know why exactly it is taking so long for them to finish?
