This beautiful fountain was still sleeping while I was there.....not because of any water shortage....but due to defective pumps. No one could tell me when it would be fixed.

By the way....there is NO water shortage in Central Florida....it rained quite a bit during my 3 week stay and tropical storm Barry layed about 8 inches of rain on us one day.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando has had about 40 inches of rain thru August 1st, compared to only 15 inches last year.

I realize that water must feed into the underground streams to end the water shortage, my only point was that the situation is not nearly as dire as was originally thought and, given the normal weather patterns of afternoon rains that are visiting the area, the situation should be normal very soon.

I haven't payed too much attention to the news lately. But I would guess with the tropical storms and hurricans in the summer, I thought the problem would be eliminated.

Tramp--when I was there in July, there were no walls up, then a wall across the stage area. This time, the wall was around the entire fountain area on Saturday, but just across the stage again on Tuesday. I'm disappointed--it was one of my favorite things.
