Epcot Fireworks

My family and I have been going to Disney every year for the past 3 years. And this year will be no exception. We will be going again during Christmas week this year! Anyway, after going so often, we think we have discovered the best place to view the fireworks at Epcot. If you go to the Pub in England about 2 hours before the fireworks, you can get a seat outside, grab something light to eat, get something to drink, and wait patiently while others scavenge to find a good spot. We have only had luck with this spot on weeknights, as is Monday-Thursday. Friday nights and weekends it is too crowded and it seems the other regulars know about this spot. There are also other spots near here that are good. If you head towards Canada past England, go along the waters edge and snag a bench. The only thing about this method is, as we found, rude people tend to stand right in front of the little fence there and will not move. Try the Pub though!

I've heard this, but never tried it. I've never eaten in the UK pavilion. Do you get a PS time 2 hours ahead, or do you just go to the pub? :)

Illuminations at the Rose & Crown

The R&C has three distinct areas :-
1) inside the pub,
2) outside eating area, and,
3) a beer garden.
I think the area to which steve_virginia is referring to is the beer garden where you can have snacks while sitting at a table and chairs overlooking the lagoon.
We made PS dinner reservations this year on Easter Sunday for 1930hrs (they didn't have anything later). When we arrived they were running late and they wouldn't guarantee an outside table - you were seated at the next available table that would accomodate your party.
Anyway, at 2015hrs we were called to our table. Normally, after such a delay I would be quite annoyed and probably complain. However, I saw the possibilty of stretching out the meal and watching Illuminations from our outside table. Our server, Ross, lived on the other side of Manchester and so we had a lot in common and a lot to talk about. In short we were able to watch the fireworks while we ate our dinner.
If you want to watch Illuminations from the R&C, a PS is essential (plus a bit of luck !!)

Has anyone who has "stretched" their dinner ever had trouble doing so? In other words, don't they try to sort of shue you out or don't they because it's late enough in the night that they don;t have any PS's to follow?
