Hi everyone...

I am sitting here listening to the Epcot Entrance "loop" music and have been doing so now for about 2 weeks. I love it and would like to learn all i can about it!

It is the "current" version i beleive as i have heard it the past couple of times i have been to the Park. It's the one that includes meledys of "One Little Spark" and just after it, "Golden Dream".

What i would like to know is.....What year was this particular loop made? It does'nt sound like something "new" as it has a very nostalgic feel to it and the inclusion of the great old attraction themes makes me wonder. I have heard the other loop ( on the original "Epcot" lp album and i beleive the WDW "Where Magic Lives" cd album) and the one i am listening to now is different.

Can anyone shed some light on this, or point me in a good direction for info regarding this great music? I'd love to know when it was recorded and stared to be used in Epcot, and who composed it. It's weird but it sounds a little bit like the score from "The Black Cauldon" s end credits in places.

Perhaps a overview of the history of Epcot Entrance loops? When the original was no longer used and the "current" version started?

Thanks a bunch in advance.

the current loop premiered in 2001 after the Millennium Celebration....additional tracks were added to it last year (Soarin'....and I would guess Mission Space)..... not sure on the composer......

The original loop (the intro to it is on the cd's you listed) played with the park's opening and stopped playing in 1999 for the M. celebration. The music that played at the entrance from 99-01 included a segment from Illuminations RoE, Tomorrow's Child, and Space from Horizons.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Disney love songs are playing right now for the F&G festival.....there were probably several periods where shorter-lived music loopls played....

Short version here but ok....

The original EPCOT entrance medly was composed in 1980-81 and of course was playing at the park on opening day.

As you may or may not know, it consisted of Energy (You make the world go 'round), Golden Dream, Its Fun to be Free, Imagination, Magic Journeys, and the Universe of Energy.

This loop played all the way up to 1999 until it was replaced with the Millenium Loop.

The Millenium Loop consisted of Illuminations 2000 (Reflections of Earth), Tomorrows Child (from Spaceship Earth 86-94), and Space (from Horizons).

This loop played until 2001, it was replaced by the current loop at Epcot.

And now, during the F&GF, the main loop has been replaced by a medly of orchestral versions of the love songs from many of the animated movies.

At Christmas, the loop is once again replaced by the usual Christmas songs. This runs through New Years.

Hope that helped.

Look at DC Torrents for a Multi-Track Collection called
Epcot Park Music 1982-Present.

If that doesnt work I have a copy that I would be more than happy to send you.

Actually, there are two different loops playing during the Flower and Garden Festival. At the entrance and around Spaceship Earth they play the original versions of approximately 15 Disney love songs. Here's the list I was able to write down while I was there: 1. Once Upon a Dream, 2. Love is a Song, 3. Someday My Prince Will Come, 4. Love Goes On, 5. Missed this one (if you know it, let me know!), 6. Baby Mine, 7. I'm Wishing/One Song, 8. A Whole New World, 9. You Belong to My Heart, 10. Beauty and the Beast, 11. Part of Your World, 12. Bella Notte, 13. Kiss the Girl, 14. Can You Feel the Love Tonight?, 15. So This is Love.
There is another loop added for the Festival, but this is played in the area just beyond the Fountain of Nations and around the areas with the Snow White, Bambi, and Lady and the Tramp topiaries. These are the instrumental versions of the songs mentioned before by Horizons 1, but unfortunately I just didn't have the time to write them down. I'd love to know what they are, and where they might be had, if anyone knows.
