has anyone done this? Just wondering of the alcoholic drinks are included the wording I read about it makes it confusing. Also was it worth it for those that have done this?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yes alcoholic drinks are included. And also note there is no seating. It's just tables you stand at. The wonderful view for illuminations and plus the deserts and drinks makes it worth it. Wish there was seating after a long day in the parks though like the Wishes desert party. The Blue Velvet cupcake you can only get at the Epcot version of the desert party is also delicious!!! :)

Going to it next week (along with Merry and Bright and Ferrytale Wishes Dessert Parties). I don't recall if there's a full bar or just sparkling wine.

We just did it on Friday Nov 6

Desserts were (as I recall)

Cupcakes
Rice Krispie Treats
Chocolate Ganache Cups
Pistachio Cannoli
Churros (horribly soggy churros)
Ice cream w/toppings
Apple Cobbler
Mixed Berry Cobbler (From America)
Lamington (From New Zealand)
Chocolate Chip Cookies
No Sugar Added Lemon Cookies

Beverages Were:

Coffee
Tea
Water
Lemonade
Iced Tea
Rum Punch
White wine (I believe it was Chardonnay)
Red Wine (I believe a Merlot)
Prosecco (sweet and dry)

The rum punch was mixed when you ordered it - they would put rum in a glass, and then add the punch, so I guess you could get it non-alcoholic if you wanted. The people making the punch were inconsistent. None that I had were weak, some were "normal" - about a shot of rum, but I had a few that had to be over 50% rum.

Plenty of tables all around -but no seating as was said. The entrance procedure is a bit of a mess, and we had to ask a number of cast members throughout the day in order to find out exactly where it was. the best answer was "it moves around a lot, I am never sure where it is". I would rate it as "OK" but I think part of what made it just "OK" for us was the 90 degree temps, the humidity, and the insane crowds - nothing that really has to do with the event itself, but all combined to put us in a mood that could have been better.

Great info!
I know it's supposed to be always by/near Mexico and that's where we checked in. I had looked up on the details on Disney's website to find out where to check in and it was correct when we had ours 10/22. Is that where y'all checked in near Mexico/Port of Entry? :)

Our even was located behind and next to the Port of Entry gift shop on the left hand side (the one toward Mexico). - behind that permanent coffee / pastry stand that is there. The check in podium was about 50 feet to the left of that stand. The queue line was masking tape on the ground - that is what I meant by the entrance could have been better - it was really just a messy crowd.

However, having talked to a number of CMs about it, apparently it can also be behind the OTHER Port of Entry gift shop sometimes. It can also be moved to France if it has to be. If the weather is extremely bad, apparently they do move it under cover as well.

Yep they is where ours was too. That's the "official" check in spot but could understand if it has to be moved sometimes. Could have to do with the direction of the wind and smoke from fireworks so the guests paying for the party don't get caught up in the smoke and get a not do great view/experience, and of course the weather like you mentioned. :)

Have never done the party, just a comment:

Seems pricy if you don't drink, especially when a teenager has to pay the full price. Perhaps they should have two tiered pricing for those who don't or can't drink alcohol. I have never done the party and probably won't as for years we have always stopped in France, buying a variety of pastries, then finding a spot to sit to wait for Illuminations, and having our own dessert party while we wait.

It is tough to do a split pricing structure because eventually someone (or many somoeones) will realize, "Hey, let's just book one alcohol ticket and one non, and then I will go up and get double the drinks and we can save all that money!"

Are they moving it based on winds that day so that the people who paid for the dessert party aren't getting smoke blown in their face the entire time or is it being moved for some other reason?

The CM I spoke to specifically said weather and other events. I don't know if weather includes wind direction. I have to be honest, I have been upwind, downwind, cross wind, and all over WS in releation to I:ROE and I have never had an issue with smoke, even when it was blowing right at me. Maybe other people are more sensitive, but even when the wind was blowing right at us, so much so that frangments of the shell casings were falling on us (EPCOT 25th - I am talking about you), I never found smoke to be an issue.
