Maybe they did say that, 15 years ago.
The thing is that in spite of a large number of needed things, it is still the smallest problem facing WDW today. It would be nice, but it can wait a little. Maybe they could fix one pavilion at a time as they are do all this other massive stuff elsewhere.

...and my phobia. I am scared of misspelled words.
The thing is though is that is not misspelled. It is spelled differently in the English language depending on ones nation of origin. So just keep telling yourself, it's not misspelled, it's not misspelled, it's just not the way that I spell it, then, click the heals of your ruby slippers together and you will be OK.

These are just jokes! I know about the language. Who's right is a matter of perspective, but still it is kinda funny to us Americans.

A lot of animatronics are now minimatronics are even mannequins. The storm scene rain effects have issues. And does show door one work again yet? It's a short refurb in September.

This doesn't get much attention around here, but do you know what I miss the most about Living With the Land? (Although I think it used to be called, Listen to the Land.) It's the CMs who used to ride up front on all the boats, and deliver "live" commentary about the various parts of the attraction. What made it even nicer was that it was also an interactive exchange with the CM and the guests riding on the boats. People could ask the CM questions during the ride.

I think after these next few additions (avatar land, toy story land, Star Wars land) I think Disbey does something with the wasted space at Epcot. Personally it's my favorite park. We love world showcase. But they could use more rides. And there's a lot of useless space at Epcot before world showcase. If like to see them add a couple rides.

I hope you are right and they do start to spend money to upgrade existing attractions especially in FW and add new ones in WS. I also have a feeling that Disney will eventually show more love at Epcot. The only question is, how long before they do some major work here? It is promising to hear @marni1971 state they are finally fixing the issues at LWtL. However fixing broken doors and animatronics isn't necessarily a sign they are planning to spend more money soon with all else that needs some love in FW. Because what is finally being done at LWtL is something that should have been attended to months ago, and Walt would have not allowed something to be broken for such a long period of time. We know that Walt always wanted broken things to be fixed quickly. I think Bob Iger should spend more time in the parks like Walt did at DL. Iger should make some surprise visits without notifying Park VP's ahead of time and Iger should go on all attractions in their current state. Then he can see for himself the state of disarray Future World is in.

I know Iger has a lot of big fish to fry, and I totally have respect for what he has done lately. The purchase of Lucas Film was a brilliant move and it's a sure bet that the new Star Wars films, Star Wars lands, Star Wars merchandise are going to bring billions of additional revenue for decades to come. So will Marvel. Disney can't lose here. However, if Iger were to spend just one single day in Epcot, riding things like UoE, Imagination, etc. I think he would work harder at getting the BoD convinced to spend more money here because it is long overdue. I'm sorry but the UoE pre-show video which was recorded nearly 2 decades ago is the antithesis of something that is part of a "Future" World attraction. Ellen DeGeneres looks nothing like that anymore. Too bad that Jeopardy is still on the air. It also doesn't help that Alex Trebek and Ellen are still relevant. I wonder if it would have been updated long ago if Jeopardy was no longer on the air? Probably. It's no excuse, however. Ellen's hair looks completely different now. LOL. My younger brothers were watching DuckTales as it was brand new back then in the late 90's when UoE received the last update! Think about how old DuckTales is now! They wouldn't think about putting that back on the air nowadays would they?

I love Epcot, it's my favorite park at WDW. It's just kind of in this embarrassing state right now. Broken doors at LWtL. Broken doors at TT.....for months and months straight. Broken animatronics at LWtL and UoE for months and months (probably years by now).

What would Walt do?

Some of this stuff has simply been broken for far too long. Hope Disney throws a lot of money into fixing what is broken SOON. Then once Future World is fixed, they finally need to add some countries into the prime money making real estate over in WS. Food and Beverage, and merchandise in WS is a huge money maker for sure. So add more countries and some new attractions for the existing counties to draw people in. Disney cannot go wrong here if this were to be done.

I think a big storm is brewing with the Frozen ride in Norway. Without any other major attractions in WS, the wait times are going to be an absolute joke. I think they will be kicking themselves in the butt for not planning this out better. It will be longer wait times than TSMM has been for sure. It's capacity is also much, much, much lower than TSMM as well. Frozen is still extremely popular and probably always will be. Another D, or even a C ticket in WS will spread out the crowds in WS. Is it too late now for them to do something about what is sure to be a massive bottleneck over in Norway pretty soon?

Good thing Soarin will be getting an update and the additional theatre. All is not completely lost at Epcot Centre. More good things will come. The only question is, when?

All I can say is that if they can't keep up with Future World, how in the world are they going to keep up with 2 brand new sections in Hollywood studios and one in Animal Kingdom.

There hasn't seemed to be any clear indication of what direction Epcot is going to move, whether it be towards more character/IP based attractions, or back to the classic "edu-tainment" focus of the 80s and early 90s. IMO, given the explosion of "geek culture" in the last few years, refocusing on entertaining while educating might be the way to go, which would have to include updating some of the information/concepts used in the attractions (ie EEE, SSE, LTWL, etc), and taking Innoventions back to the Communicore days with modern tech. When I was 16 during my first visit to Epcot in 1990, my grandmother had to literally drag me out of Communicore, which was like a geek paradise to me.

I still like going to Future World for purposes of nostalgia, but I agree with others that there is not a lot there to be excited about otherwise. Innoventions was pretty bad when I went recently.
