EPCOT behind the scenes tour

Hello everyone. My soon-to-be wife and I are going to spend another weekend at WDW next month as part of our honeymoon. We are planning to take the Future World behind the scenes tour. I have a couple of questions for you all that I wasn't able to get a definite answer for from the lady we booked with:

1) Does the tour still take you upstairs into the old Imageworks in the Imagination pavillion?

2) Can you take photos on the tour? (She said we could bring a camera, but others we have spoke to said no photos.)

No
When I took that tour in either October 2007 or March 2008 (don't remember which) we went into the old Imageworks. Since I had never been up there it was pretty neat. Not really a whole lot left apparently. All I can remember still being there is the rainbow tunnel.

I was a little disappointed in the tour honestly, but it could have been because I had a bad tour guide. She spent way too much time in the corridor that gives a timeline of Walt Disney.

I was up there last week and nearly everything is still there. It's in very bad shape but it's there. Some things have been moved around and panels on computers and other machines are open as well as other equipment is lying about. The rainbow tunnel has 3 lights that work in it.

Cool, I hope we get to go. Maybe if I ask the guide really nice?:animwink:

Would they let you walk through the tunnel? Howabout pictures up there?

The area isn't "safe" for guests by any means so I highly doubt they will take anyone up there right now. The only area currently used (for small events) is the area directly next to the staircase. Everywhere else is very dark and too dangerous for guests to enter.

How/why were you up there anyway? I know you have ties and work for Disney (am I correct? I try to follow things around here, haha) but it seems a bit random to be up there.

JII ride, preshow, load, unload and upstairs (old Imageworks) was my detail that night. I don't have a permanent detail like others so I could be anywhere in Epcot on any given night. Most nights I do special projects unless we are short staffed in which then I get pulled for.
