Epcot and Water

Still walled up, Norway. Are we sure they're not doing work?

I don't think any of this is drought-related. Other water features are working, like the Storybook Circus train/animals, spitting camel in Adventureland, splash areas in EC, etc. The sprinklers run at night on the grounds also.

True its not drought related regarding Norway. There have been ongoing problems with leaking inside and what not. Its been off for Im not sure how long now, and walls went up several weeks ago I guess. But havent seen or heard any work going on. So not sure if they walled it off just to hide it and do nothing, or if they are actually working on it third shift. This is why the left side of the wall inside has a curtain covering it, and the displays were removed. I hope they return as they show the opening of the pavilion and its begininings. And its just not the same outside without the waterfall and ugly show. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Any news on Norway's waterfall? I was quite disappointed to see it not working at the beginning of march.

The Norway waterfall has been off for about a year soon, it started with the great idea of a new show element for Agent P (so they could say its not just Kim P with a new wrapping). A viking sword inside the mountain was installed. Problem: someone didnt do a good job and when the (recurring since 1988) problem with overflow when Maelstrom is being drained at night it went through the walls and building and ruined the opening exhibit (Im not sure if it will ever come back, but they atleast covered it greatly with a... curtain). Usually the water only enters Puffin´s Roost and Disney have to have giant dryers in there before opening, but now its going through the building because of the new Agent P element... So I guess they are trying to fix that.

It was walls around the waterfall when they made the effect and then it was no walls until like some weeks ago. So its a hope that they will get it fixed soon... Only been like a year soon.

Only Annual Passholders with zip codes in the metro Orlando area get to see the water effects. They also get issued special glasses to see the hidden fireworks.
Its true I got my glasses last week loved it, you should see how great the laughing place looks on splash for passholders and wishes 2.0 is amazing shame that its still testing and not everyone can see it.

Well, it's not like the water is constantly being pumped from a source, waters in the fountains and rides are recirculated, of course they do lose water from time to time, but it shouldn't be a big issue during a drought.

My swimming pool (which has less surface area than these elements) loses about 1-2 inches of water a week this time of year in south Florida due to evaporation. The fountains will increase the loss rate a lot due to the mist.

I am learning so much on these boards.

Before now, I'd have called it, "the big fountain in Future World, with the music and the shooting water and stuff...the one by Electric Umbrella and the pin stand, by where the smoking area used to be..."

Now I know its name. Fountain of Nations. :)
Yeah! There is actually water from different bodies of water all over the world in the fountain! Well, it used to be there, who knows it probably evaporated long ago!

the American Adventure fountains were off,,,whats with the fountain/water issues?

American Adventure's fountain is turned off at different times of the day because the Fife and Drum Corp. do there show just in front of it. When it's off, the unmiked Cast Members in the Corp. don't have to shout over the sound of the water.
