Enough time??

So we are checking in to Art of Animation on Friday, 9/18 and I plan to do online check in. We will be hitting the road at around 9am that morning and per Google Maps, the drive from the hotel we will be leaving to AoA is 5hrs and 21mins...of course that is with no traffic/construction/bathroom breaks LOL. I am going to add 2 hours, (fingers crossed that that's more than enough time to add ) on to that to accommodate any of those...that puts us arriving at about 4:30pm. We have dinner reservations at T-Rex at 8pm. Do you think we will make it or am I pushing things? Also, considering the construction, what time do you think we should plan on leaving the resort to get to T-Rex if we are driving our own vehicle?

1. The drive time from your hotel to AoA is hit or miss depending on so many circumstances.....we drove I-75 on a Saturday from Sweetwater (45 mins. south of Knoxville), Tennessee to St. Petersburg Fla - a trip that google said would take around 10 hrs and 30 mins of drive time and we made it in 11 hrs with a teenager and 6 year old! But, the day before on Friday when we left Ohio, we hit stand still traffic between Columbus and Cincinnati due to an accident that cost us a good 35-45 minutes as well as minor remnants of rush hour traffic in Cinci that slowed us slightly. If you are concerned about travel time, could you leave before 9:00?
2. As for time leaving your resort to get to T-Rex, I would head that way around 6:00 and be sure I get there to find parking. Any extra time can be spent browsing in some shops!

Like @Scott10 said you need to leave early to make sure you find parking, due to construction parking is an issue at DTD. Disney transportation might be a better option.

Back to your original question you should have lots of time to check in and get to T-Rex.
