Day 4 - Holloweened Studios
Another coffee, another trip around the lake.
Whilst I walked I checked on the status of my Prime delivery...the backup plan!
Well, that is a good sign!
I had forgotten that next day Prime has a window that closes at 8p. That, could be a bit awkward. If it doesn't deliver soon today, I will have to tell the kid that fell through, and work out a third level backup plan with her, just in case.
But, I have faith in the Amazon! (fingers crossed)
I stopped by the room and nudged the kid awake. She rolled over, said good morning, flipped open her laptop, and started casting her Anime (I sense this will become a recurring theme). Then shuffled off to the bathroom scratching her head.
That’s my queue!
I decided to shift things up a bit for breakfast today, as we actually had plans for a rather substantial lunch. So, I picked up a bagel for myself, and a chocolate croissant for the kiddo. And, of course, grapes and a grapefruit juice.
A quick stop to toast the bagel...
And I was headed back to the room.
She was sitting on the bed, FaceTiming with her Mom. I presented our bouquet of morning delights...
The kiddo looked at me like the world had stopped. No bacon...?
So, as a blasphemer to the bacon goddess, I was sent back to collect the sticks of breakfast indulgence. "No bacon? How can you have a morning with no bacon!?!"
Her mother found this situation endlessly amusing.
I need my coffee in the morning...it appears, she needs her bacon!
Food devoured, it was time to head out, but, I still needed to shower and get ready.
And, we...had lost track of time. Only an hour left to get to Toy Story Midway Mania before the FP window closed!
So, when I exited the shower, I thought, I will go ahead and call a Lyft. You know, being proactive and stuff.
Now, for some disclosure, I use Lyft all the time. I don’t mean “when I travel” or “a few times a month”. I mean, I don’t own a car and rely on my bicycle, Lyft and Uber to get around.
There’s a story behind that which I will not share here and now, but basically, the cost of doing so, based on where I live, my proximity to shopping and dining, and where and how I work (often remote), it is actually cheaper for me to Lyft or Uber than to own a car. So, I don’t.
But, what that does mean is that I have learned you should be a bit proactive on ordering the ride, because outside of areas like airports, which always have a steady supply of drivers, it could be 10-15 minutes before your ride actually shows.
This, I have learned, is not the case at Disney. But, I digress...I looked at the drivers showing on the app, and the closest was over at the Studios, so, I thought it a good idea to get that clock started whilst I got dressed.
Bad idea! The driver picked up almost immediately and was 4 minutes way, and was over at AoA!
Super speed initiated, I skipped shaving and brushed my teeth. Tossed on my clothes, and tossed together our day pack.
And we made it. Barely, but we made it!
I wants afraid the drop off would be towards the back of the parking lot, but...nope, it is right up by the entrance. Sweet!
We started walking in, the kid Bump de Bumped the Sorcerer’s Apprentice theme. Oh, I see, she saw the topiary!
We skirted though a thankfully short security line and picked up speed. 15 minutes to go!
As we walked, a Star Wars show was playing, and my Kid proceeded to tell me how cool she thinks Phasma and Kylo are, but she wishes they would get to do more in the movies!
Ok.
We bobbed and weaved, increasing speed again as the crowds thinned out...we knew where we were going!!!
As we walked it was nice to see One Man's Dream is still around. We both enjoy the models. The kiddo said she might want to come back to that later. We had places to go and pop guns to shoot!
We knew..where we were...going.....didn't we?!?!
We stopped for a minute, confused, and the kid reasoned that the new entrance must be in Toy Story land. So...off we went! Bob and weave, bob and weave...
