Enchanted Tiki Room queue construction?

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I've not been able to find or see anything about it...

Can someone tell me what is going on with the queue area of the Enchanted Tiki Room? One time I was there only the last row was walled-off, and more recently all but the very first row (and the handicapped row) was walled-off. I think there is also a scrim on the backside of the queue area as you are walking behind the attraction.

Anyone know what this is for or what is being designed or put in?

It was like that in early March when we were there. I hadn't read or seen anything about it prior to our visit, and I haven't since then either.

I couldn't tell what they were doing.

Yes, I was wondering that as well. These last few times I've been to Magic Kingdom I noticed some tarps over the queue.

It has to be something significant. It's been going on for a few months now, it can't be just repainting or restructuring... *insert TDO joke here*

Peeked behind the curtain during our trip and saw a bunch of paint cans in a big mess of a job site. So whatever it is it definitely involves painting. Oh and they need to keep their paint cans and work area cleaned up a little better. Looked like a real mess back there with them thrown all over the place in a big pile. It was ugly.

We were there last week, and there were construction walls surrounding the entire queue (and blocking off the "preshow"). The entire roof is covered with white vinyl. (You don't really notice it from close-up, but it stands out like a sore thumb when you're on Splash Mountain). I assumed maybe they're re-doing the thatched roof, but it's possible that the vinyl was a cover for the thatch as opposed to an underlayment. Either way, it's ugly.

Or you need to not be peaking in at the construction site area. That's the reason why they have the curtain, so you don't have to see it.
