I'm thinking about applying for the CP for next fall semester but there is one thing holding me back. My hair. It's long....very long. Though I'd be willing to cut it somewhat short I would like to know what's acceptable by Disney? I part my hair down the middle and it just kinda hangs down...just past my shoulders now. If I were to cut it say just above or at the top of my ears would that be acceptable? Ehhhh there's no way I'm going shorter lol.

Thanks

Hey DisJosh,

Glad to hear you're considering the WDWCP. Here's what the Disney Look book says about hairstyling:

"Hair must be neatly cut and tapered on the back and sides, forming a smooth, symmetrical appearance so that it does not extend beyond or cover any part of the ears or the shirt collar. The overall style must be neat, natural, and balanced proportionally."

So what you're talking about doing I think sounds acceptable.
Hope that helps.

Some of those guys are really goofy looking.

By the way, there is no "proprietary/confidential" statement anywhere in the Disney Look guide so this should be legit to post. :)

Bahhhh I don't think I could part with that much hair. I don't think the CP is for me...anything that requires me to change my self image that much isn't for me.

WDW Cast Members – More Questions

More questions about hair length and employment at WDW

I am a senior undergraduate at The College of Wooster in Ohio. Part of my graduation requirement is to complete two semesters of independent study. This is where I need your help- as part of my thesis I need to anonymously survey employees of Walt Disney World, the subject covers stuff like hair length and dress. If you are (or were) employed by WDW would you please consider taking this 5-7 minute online questionnaire about your employment at Walt Disney World? The URL is http://pages.wooster.edu/kbischof/ This questionnaire is guaranteed to be anonymous and would greatly help my research.

For more information please feel free to contact me (kbischof@wooster.edu) or read the opening statement included on the survey website. Thank you very much.

Mustaches are permitted now. They had to in order to get the Hispanic males to work. Mustaches are very much a part of the Hispanic machismo and Disney needs the positions filled so they caved on this one.

I wish they hadn’t, I am a fan of long hair, beards, and mustaches, but not at Disney.
