EMH - Wrist Bands

We went to WDW 2 years ago. They did not have wrist bands because they only had early morning. At that time, we just showed up and went to the EMH early day. I guess that since they now have it at night, you need wrist bands. Can some one tell me how I get them, or how this works?

There will be wrist band distribution areas set up. Last visit, we needed to show our I.D, Resort I.D., and park tickets.
They usually put sign up directing you where to go.

I did the EMH at night last summer so I don't think it has changed. Its for resort guests, so you must need your room key or park pass. Throughout that day whichever park is scheduled for an EMH, they give out a sheet with the attractions that are going to be open and places to eat during that night at that park. The sheet also states where the handouts for wristbands are located...there will be about 3 or 4 locations. So if you were doing MK extra magic hours, I can remember one location being under the train station at Main Street right after you go through the entrance. There will be a line formed and there are castmembers looking for your resort keys/passes and they'll just put the wristband on and you are on your way. Hope this answers your question and I hope i helped some.

Just to add to what's already been said, if don't show up to the park until the beginning or during the EMH I think you can just show them your resort ID at the gate, and they'll give you a wristband there.

Thanks everyone!! This makes its easy. I am glad someone mentioned wristbands in another post, because I had no idea. I HATE not knowing what to expect.

Last June, they told us that they required us to present our room keys. No other identification was requested. They took each person's room key and swiped it through a magnetic card reader attached to a Palm Pilot type PDA which I assumed was to verify that it was a valid room key.

For many guests, their room key is the same as their park admission tickets, but that isn't always the case. We were using seperate park admission tickets. We were at a checkpoint already in the park, so there is an assumption that we obviously had valid park admission tickets since we were already inside the gates.

EMH hours seem to be posted 6 months in advance on www.disneyworld.com. Right now, they have up to February. So I guess EMH for our April trip will be posted in October. My question is, are they pretty prompt on getting it up on the first of the month, or is it towards the middle of the month, or just whenever they feel like? With only 2 days to go until September, I'm just kind of excited at the fact that in two days, I will be able to say "next month I can make my EMH plans and my ADR's". :sohappy:

That question had nothing to do with wristbands, but I didn't want to start an all new thread for a question that only requires a simple answer.

Emh

Just to echo and maybe advise a little:
They will ost where to go for your EMH wristbands. They will scan your resort id and then give you a wristband.

A point: Dont bother with Epcot EMH at night. There are only three or four things open and they get STACKED very quickly. Same with Studios. Everyone heads for ToT and RnR so those lines are huge and EMH becomes useless.

Just an opinion

Wrist bands are only givin out to resort guests. meaning if you are not staying at a disney resort you can not use the EMH privlage.

the bands are givin out all over the 4 parks, an hour before the park closes I believe or around 7ish....

MK they give them out in every land if i am not mistaking. Future world by SM, infront of the castle, in adventure land somewhere im not to sure and City hall..

Epcot. Guess services I believe has them, by mexico in the WS and Im not to sure where else.

AK and MGM not to sure where

But they are free just make sure everyone in your party has a room key. that is your ticket to get a EMH wrist band.....

When you check-in at your hotel and on the information channel on your TV, it should tell you the park for the day, time, and other details. If you don't find what your looking for there, definetly stop by guest relations and ask what time and where the places are that they are giving out bracelets! I reccommend getting them early, when I was at WDW two weeks ago the line to get bracelets near closing was longer then some rides!

At most parks they just look at your room key and ask if everyone in your party is present to get the bracelet. The only changed was at Epcot where they actually swiped your card on a hand-help palm pilot type thing!

Enjoy!

one thing...

Last November we attended our first evening EMH. My wife and I each had our room keys, but not our kids. They gave the kids wristbands, but let us know that they were required for everyone for EMH. After that, another guest tried to tell us that our room keys were also what were required for transportation and they could be asked for at any time, but I havn't heard that one before or since (we have AP's, and have been 5 times this year already, for a total of 17 days, and I've been at least 25 times since 1974).

Since that evening, we always make sure we not only have all four AP's when we go to the parks, we also make sure we have our room keys...just in case.
