EMH at the Magic Kingdom

Hi I will visit the MK on July 9th, 2015 and we are planning to be at MK one hour before the EMH.

(1) Are only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland open for EMH?
(2) What is the best strategy to avoid waiting in lines?
(a) Head to Seven Dwarfs coaster first thing and then do the other attractions of Fantasyland (Peter Pan, etc) or
(b) Do first the other attractions and get FP for Seven Dwarfs?

Thanks
George

When we were there, Adventureland and Frontierland are closed for morning EMH. That may be different during peak times. Our strategy is as follows:

1. Get FP for 7DMT and avoid it like the plague until your FP time. The same goes for Anna and Elsa.
2. Hit Peter Pan first because that is the 2nd longest line.
3. Since we do not do Space Mountain, that takes out the 3rd longest line.
4. In 1 hour we were able to do the following:

Peter Pan, Pooh, Tea Cups 2x, met Ariel in her Grotto, Barnstormer 3x, Race cars 2x, Buzz 3x, Astro Orbiter. We made it over to Adventureland right at 9AM and in line for the escort to Thunder Mountain.

If you get in line for 7DMT, by the time you are off, the lines are growing for everything else. It is simply not worth it. It is a glorified Barnstormer.

Thanks for your answer.
I am planning to visit MK the previous afternoon, too
and use the FP for Anna and Elsa, BUZZ and Space Mountain.
So, on July 9th is going to be only Fantasyland, Adventureland and Frontierland

Pretty much everything is open for evening EMH with the exception of some show based attractions and sometimes Jungle Cruise.

As far as avoiding lines, there's not really much you can do on that during EMH as there are no fastpasses and you can't really rush to a ride at the start of it as the lines from regular guests still exist towards the beginning, but normally the later it gets the shorter the lines get.

I've never been to a morning EMH though.

I will tell you that EMH or not, everyone and their mother seems to head to SDMT as soon as the gates are open. Mind you, this was not an EMH morning, but with the gates opening around 8:45a and heading straight back to SDMT...the wait was already about 145min before 8:55am on one of the days of our last trip. We found the shortest standby lines for that in the evening. I think the posted time was like 45 min and we waited more like 25.

During princess half marathon weekend we took our granddaughter (3 y/o) to the Mk. It was a morning EMH. We were there at rope drop, and her most important thing was Anna and Elsa, so we headed there first. Got in line at 7:08. were out at 7:20. Left there, went to the carousel, rode it with Lady Tremane, then my granddaughter had to get her autograph, went to mine train, picture on it was 7:55 AM, after that we did Enchanted tales with Belle, Ariel meet and greet, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Small World, Tea Cups, Dumbo again, and the barnstormer. Peter Pan, Dumbo #2 and Barnstormer were with fast pass. We left by 10 AM and she was very happy. And all of this on a trip that was only planned a week before we left.

You can go anywhere in the park, almost all of the attractions are open. The high wait time rides we usually FP during the day or ride when there happens to be a shorter line like during a parade or fireworks. During EMH we typically ride all rides that are almost walk on. We usually go in late May, not sure how July wait times may be.

If you won't mind late hours, get in line for SDMT like 15 minutes before closing. I've never seen Disney refuse anyone from the ride even if the wait time is longer than 15 minutes.

Actually, as long as you get in line before park closing, you're fine. We once got in line for space at 12:59, it broke down, got fixed, and we still got to ride. We didn't get out of the park till 2
