EMH and monorail service

Does anyone know how long the monorail runs from MK and Epcot during/after evening EMH? We are going in June where MK is open until 11PM with EMH to 2AM? I'm assuming monorail service continues after EMH hours are over. Thanks in advance.

Next visit: June 2006 POR
Last visit: Sept/Oct 2002 POR/WL

I have seen resort monorails running as late as 3AM (the closing time when I was there). They should keep running the resort monorail until after the event is over.

I am doubting the EPCOT line would be open much past 11pm. If it is indeed not running, you can always talk to a CM at MK for assistance. Disney will NOT leave you stranded at MK.

I noticed your next trip is to Port Orleans Riverside. I love that resort! It is so quiet and beautiful. (I still forget sometimes and call it Dixie Landings--it's old name).

Thanks, we were thinking of parking at one of the monorail resorts to avoid some traffic, maybe.

Yes, we just made our ressies tonight. 7 days at WDW. Can't wait! I have heard nothing but good things about POR. Only stayed one night there in our 2002 visit.

For sure, the monorail to the TTC and the MK resorts will be running an hour after the MK closes after EMH, but as brertigger already pointed out, it's unlikely that the EPCOT monorail loop would be operating that late as well (but you wouldn't need it, anyway, right?)

Have a great trip!

Monorails run until the park is clear (typically 1-2 hours after park close). Each loop (Express, Resort, Epcot) run based on its park. When the Magic Kingdom is empty of guest, for example, expect the Express and Resort lines to shut down.

If you park at Epcot and go to the Magic Kingdom on a night where Epcot closes first, it is possible that the Epcot line will shut down before the Magic Kingdom closes -- in that event, you would take the monorail from the MK to the TTC, then catch the Disney/MGM bus and request an Epcot drop-off (the Monorail Pilot will mention this on the PA when you arrive at the TTC).

This past weekend, due to park hours and the marathon, we ran the monorails 24 hours a day. If there's a need, they'll be running!

And parking at a resort to avoid traffic is frowned upon...

I hate to be the barrer of bad news, but you can't do that. My fiance and I tried that back in December, but the CM at the contemp said that parking is for resort guest only or for people eating at Chef Mickey's. If you are eating at Chef Mickey's you get a visitors pass good for only 3 hrs.

While the parking is frowned upon, if you do in fact get a temporary pass, I've never EVER heard or seen Disney have a vehicle that is normally parked in one of its lots towed. Disney makes all sorts of hollow threats that they'll never actually go through with because the bad PR is simply not worth it for them, even when it is clearly a guest's wrong action that resulted in Disney's procedural corrective action.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did not know that it was frowned upon to park at other resorts. Not trying to buck the system just trying to think of ways to avoid traffic.

Can't wait until June. :sohappy:
