Elvis' 75th Birthday

Today would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday. Does anyone have any favorite Elvis songs, or special memories to share?

I was privileged enough to see him live with my mother and brother here in Richmond, the year before he passed away... I know now that he was out of shape compared to previous years, but the show was still an amazing memory!

My brother bought my mother and me a Christmas present several years ago to go to Memphis for a "re-union" concert on the 30th anniversary of his death (2007). It turned out to be a nice experience, and the fans were fun. (The concert was surviving band members and backup singers, including the Oak Ridge Boys' bass singer, all orchestrated with digital video of Elvis' image. It was fun to watch.)

If you are referring to "He Touched Me," the author is Bill Gaither, who also sang it with his group, although many, many gospel groups also sang it.

It was the title track to Elvis' early-'70s Grammy-winning gospel album. An awesome song.

You made the mistake of taking a Pumbas post literally.
