Elusive effects lost in time

I recall the LwTL Attraction having a misting / fog effect in the rain forest area many years ago.
It added to the overall tropical atmosphere, where you not only saw the mist but also smelled the moisture.
Made the scene seem even more ‘realistic’.

That scene alone has SO many missing effects and lighting now but it has been nice to see a couple of things brought back online.
Lots more work needs to be done however…

And another memory! Sprinklers in LwtL's rainforest scene used to create a raining effect in that room, which is why even to this day LwtL's boats have covers going across their tops to stop riders from getting wet!

This might be a deep cut, but I miss a small thing in POTC. When exiting you take the moving sidewalk up to the exit outside. On the moving rubber pad there would be one foot print in white and one peg leg spot in white to mimic foot steps...like a Pirate had just exited. It always made me smile. One trip it was gone and I asked and a CM told me that she missed the small touch as well...

They were painted on the “belt” you walked on..the belts were probably changed and no one thought about painting them on…maybe they were removed during the pandemic so as to promote social distancing?

exactly... just repaint them! its not hard or expensive but it was a small bit of magic!!

I think it worked for me 70-80% of the time, so I guess I got lucky!

Not really an effect; but I miss the pre safety spiel star tunnel at Space Mountain. I think it was a few years ago the iconic music is now drowned out by a looped safety spiel. Kills the nostalgia for me.

Everyone talking about the various effects missing in Dinosaur, Kali and Everest, shows how much AK has been butchered by current management. Not only they don't expand the park, but they make the fez rides it has, worse.

Safari too - the moving bridge, the jeep “chasing” you as water splashed around you, campsite with smoking fire, the AA little red.

When opened a “warden” would be standing next to little red as if he was the driver of the truck.

Not sure if this counts, but the original range of movement Br'er Bear had here. In ride testing/soft open you can see his arms had more springy animation to them, giving a real flailing effect. It seems by the time the ride fully opened his arms had been locked in to rock alongside his body

Not sure if this counts, but the original range of movement Br'er Bear had here. In ride testing/soft open you can see his arms had more springy animation to them, giving a real flailing effect. It seems by the time the ride fully opened his arms had been locked in to rock alongside his body

I have never seen that function, and I rode it the year it opened! I'm very surprised to hear this! Not that it does that much, just moves out a little bit.
