Ellen Degeneres show taping

I am going to be in the area next week (24-31) and I know that Ellen is taping her show from Universal on the 30th and 31st. Do any of you that work at Universal or who are familiar with this event know where she tapes the shows from? Also, I am thinking about trying to get into a taping however I don't want to try to get a ticket ahead of time since I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it or not. Any idea what time of day the shows will tape and if they will be doing any stand-by tickets or are they all pre-assigned? I went to a taping of the Rosie show back in may of 2000 and got in stand-by, however she did 5 shows and Ellen is only doing 3 I believe so I imagine this will be much more difficult to get into. Anyone with any inside info about when the tapings are, where exactly she tapes from and if they hold any seats for stand-by's?

All the tickets for this are currently sold out. I know there's an open stage in citywalk where anyone can watch the musical acts, and they are holding a few standby tickets for people who just show up on the day of the show for taping but you'd have to get there very early to get in. I know some people who plan on being there as early as 6AM. They're all hoping that the replacement for BTTF will be announced during her show since she's taping on the final day of its run.

If you don't have tickets, good luck. The Show called me a few weeks ago to tell me I'm standby. I put in requests through her website for tickets!

I was planning on just going up there early to see if there was any chance of getting in stand-by, but I wasn't thinking 6AM early. Guess I will have to rethink my strategy. Maybe just get really drunk at citywalk the night before and try to pass out close to where the line for stand-by tickets might start.

Actually she was across the water from Hard Rock (Hard Rock was her background, on the other side of the water)... She tapes on the area right next to the water, down the stairs from the main Citywalk stage, where you sit when you get VIP 4th of July or New Year's tickets, or if you watch the Tony Hawk show... Basically, just go to Citywalk and you'll see her set...

I did see Ellen this year, I was there when the rain came down. J-Lo was there too. She brought her butt.

Were you at the taping where the whole audience got Annual Passes? I think that may have been the John Stamos one actually... I thought that was a nice move by Universal... glad you had fun!

I can't watch 5 minutes of her show, but it's cool the audience got annual passes.
