Electrical Water Pageant Volume

I heard it all the way but Liberty square loud and clear once, I thought the Electrical Parade was coming around for a second.
They store it in the canal behind Splash Mountain and Pirates. Maybe they were testing something or turned it on by accident. That's pretty close to Liberty Square.

It's loud at BLT. When we stayed there I noticed it too. I don't know if the rooms just aren't as sound proof as the older hotels or if there is some other reason, but it was much louder. My kids were 3 and 6 and both slept through it on the nights they were asleep already so you probably don't have long before it won't wake her.
I noticed that it was noticeably loud when I stayed at BLT in May. It actually caught my attention when I was getting ready to get a shower and ended up on the balcony watching it go by.

Hey all. So, I looooove Disney. Like, it's a sickness or something. And I never really complain about the parks because I typically enjoy my time, but I have to see if I'm the only one who had had this recent complaint. My family and I just stayed at Bay Lake tower for vacation and we were astounded at how loud that dinky night parade is on the lagoon. It would come around 9:00 and maybe again at 10:00. And every time we all woke up to it. It surprised me that a resort that advertises to families with young kids would send a loud parade by the hotels at a time when many young children (and exhausted parents) are asleep. Maybe I never noticed it prior to having a kid with an early bedtime but it really put a damper on our sleep and enjoyment of the hotel.

On a smaller note, I was also surprised during our visit that all of the electrical outlets are very low in the hotels (at least in Bay Lake) and there are no childproof covers. Again, for a resort themed to families it astounds me that these plugs would not be higher or at least covered. I asked at the front desk to see if they had any covers and they kinda thought I was crazy. Yes, I could be more prepared and bring them from home, but it just struck me as odd.

Anyone else have problems with the parade or notice little odd things about WDW once having kids? Just curious. Maybe I'm crazy....

Okay, rant over. Thanks =)
You mention you recently stayed there...was it a "cold" night? A layer of warmer air above can help to reflect back some of the sound vs a regular Florida temperature type day. Plus the colder, denser air is a better medium for sound to travel.

Interesting point. It was November when I was at BLT and it did get a little cooler at night. You might be on to something.

Great point. I also wonder if part of it is the design of Bay Lake tower. We stayed on the backside by the pool and I think the sound gets trapped back there and sort of bounces around since it's sort or a closed off "C" shape. Does that make any sense at all? Haha...Either way, it was crazy loud.

Thanks everyone for responding to my ramblings. =)

On the topic of electrical covers, As a child I stuck my finger in an outlet once and never needed covers again.

Sound over water carries far. I can hear the Water Parade, boat horns and MK train whistles daily from my home. No noise from MK parades though, oddly.
