Electrical Water Pageant....About time for a change?

I've always enjoyed seeing/hearing the nightly Electrical Water Pageant during my stays, but I don't think the actual program of it has been changed for quite a long time. Isn't it about time they changed things up a bit and gave us something new?

I wouldn't mind seeing them kick it up a notch....

We need time for things to happen.
I actually love everything about the the EWP. It's perfectly corny and cheesy with amazing nintendo sounding music....IMHO it's perfect in every way.

I'm not a change hater, but my fear is that if they ever got it in their heads that it needed an update that, they would completely miss the mark about what's cool about it and
try to modernize it with an up to date sound track etc...etc...

But the way things are going lately - if this wonderful, nostalgic piece of WDW magic got in some VP cross hairs it might seem like an easy target for cost cutting measures and it would probably just get axed all together.

So we should probably stop talking about it.....;)

I am actually surprised it still runs, and hasn't been reduced to once a week already. It blows my mind they continue to run this and remove things like LoW at Epcot.

I really enjoy it though, love that soundtrack.

I agree...except.....the one section where I don't see how it would hurt things would if they maybe swapped out the Little Mermaid songs for songs from some of the other movies. Try "A Whole New World" or "Prince Ali" from Aladdin, or try something from Mary Poppins even. Just switch it up a bit.

...or better yet, bring back the ORIGINAL soundtrack with Handel's Water Music.

Remembering.... Its night time, alls quiet, we're sitting at the end of the dock at the Contemporary. The only noise is a lapping of the water against the dock. Slowly the EWP makes it's way across Bay Lake, up comes the music and the show begins. An excellent way to end the night.:) After the show alls quiet again as they move the floats away.

the electric water pageant is honestly one of my favorite things about walt disney world. i would go nuts if they ever removed it. and i'm not kidding.

my dad and i were having a discussion about this last week at narcoossee's, saying of all the (less than desirable) change that's come to disney, it's a borderline miracle EWP has survived. thank god. because, to me, it's something that makes the magic kingdom...well...magical.

I'm not sure what LoW is, but if it is meant to be Wonders of Life, then I would simply have to say that it costs a lot less to run the Electric Water Pagent then WoL. Really just a matter of economics. WoL was very heavy in CM requirement. All those little exhibits and shows, plus Body Wars and Cranial Command were very heavy in the need for staffing. As far as I can tell all the EWP needs is a couple of people driving boats and controlling the lights for just a few brief moments. That makes it an inexpensive little "perk" for the Guests. :)

Why does everything always have to be changed and/or updated? There are some things that are better left alone and unchanged and EWP is one of them. I don't mind change and enjoy when something new comes out but sometimes you just need to leave classics alone.
