El Rio Di Tiempo VS Grand Fiesta

This is one of a few that I have to say was better as the original. We used to refer to it as Small World Mexican Style. The song, like Small World would get stuck in your head like a worm and never leave. However, it was worth keeping there. It also could be because, like Walt, I hate Donald Duck.

We used to call it "Budget Small World"

I also call the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield MA "Mini-EPCOT" whenever I drive past it - Google an image, you will understand.

I however happen to be a fan of Donald Duck.

Ha!

As for the original question, I fondly remember El Rio Del Tiempo-I loved how it began eerily and moody, with the statue coming to life, and gradually became more and more light and fun, with that ear worm of a theme song. The ending was/is sort of a parallel universe It's a Small World, with fireworks.

Remember when in Mexico, when someone smiles at you, there's just one thing to do: It's join the fiesta too!

That said, The Three Caballeros are some of my all-time favorite characters, especially now that we have those charming AAs in the finale. I'd be all for a fully fleshed-out Caballeros ride in the future Brazil pavilion. They could pull elements/inspiration from The Three Caballeros, Saludos Amigos, and Blame it on the Samba from Melody Time.

Armchair Imagineering here, but a trackless train ride where the cars get shuffled around, taking branching paths, then rejoin each other upon reaching Bahia would be amazing.

Both versions rely too much on screens, I'd say.

My opinion on which version I prefer varies by day. Right now, I'll say Gran Fiesta. That can/will change tomorrow/this afternoon.
