I'm sorry, but I laughed when I saw the title of this thread. Eisner is actually improving WDW?!? I guess some rides are getting rehabs, which is good, I'm not complaining at all. I'm glad something is being done and WDW IS getting improved! :sohappy:

Disney Studios for some reason isn't hitting any blockbusters even though they have had some good movies out like Arthur. Disney is just have a bad year but hey it looks like the budget went towards next year Hitchhikers Guide, Narnia, Chicken Little, the Wild, SC3, and much more. Yes PIXAR has been an asset but Disney hasn't had anything comparable to PIXAR not until Chicken Little comes out if it flops (which it probably won't) Disney shows they need PIXAR if not they jsut show PIXAR isn't the only ones that can do it.

As I see it Eisner has made a few bad decisions but some have good/bad affect. Many people say ABC/Capital was a bad move but and Disney should get back to roots (Animation and Theme Parks). But unlike during Walts time the media world is very hostile and are targets by larger companies. If Disney didn't have the extra cost of ABC and ESPN they might have been taken out before hand by Comcast or any other studio. Then what would happen to Disney? GE- NBC/UNI isn't turning out well for them. Eisners also hasn't had any competition the the theaters until Sherk came out. He got a big head and we animation paid for it but Disney seems like lit could turn around. The only thing that Eisner should do is work on the parks. Why does Disney only own part of Toyko one of there most successful parks? or why aren't we worrying about detail. Thats the weak point in Eisners world. But I would like to see Disney buy some companies out (Dreamworks, PIXAR, Uni. Parks, and the entire Henson Company it's just feels weird not seeing JH's Muppets.)

The Tokyo deal was done the year before Disney hired Eisner. This is one of the points Eisner argues about the management before him, claiming Disney got a bumb deal and that and should own equity in it.

Wow. This is an old thread, but I'm glad to see it got resurrected. As far as the "Florida Project" it is cool to watch the entire presentation that Walt gave on the "Tomorrowland" DVD set. Watching it and seeing what he had to say about things was interesting and very cool. MK was part of it from the start. But as far as EPCOT goes even Walt said that they vision he had could never be achieved by Disney alone. Even Walt knew that it would take the cooperation of many corporations and groups in order to possibly get it to work even remotely close to how he saw it. Now, back in Eisner's early days, he really did do some good things, and it seems that everyone is in agreement about this, but really, lately he hasn't had the support people that can say to him "That won't work, maybe if you tried it this way" like he did in the old days. Now, as far as Tokyo Disney goes, that is the park I most want to visit in the future. I'm also on DisneySites forums and one of the members there, TDLFan, has some great pics of the most recent shows that are there. If WDW had stage shows like "One Man's Dream II" it would be absolutely amazing. If you find yourself over there, take a peek at them. I personally would rather Eisner just finish out his contract because it would allow for them to make sure that they get the proper replacement in place rather than just axing him completely and scrambling for a replacement.

I have been taking some heat in the recent days about Eisner?
Not that I care about that but i want to speak up about Esner.

I am sure there are 1000's of reasons people are so against Eisner but I think the positives should be mentioned.

Was anybody a member of this forum before Eisner took over at Disney?......
didnt think so because when Eisner took over the Disney Company WDW wasn't even close to what it has become today!!
The expansion of parks, hotels, retail & nightlife was all done under Eisner control.

Sure some people can argue that some of the new projects don't fit the "Disney Bill" Or "Walts way". But does anybody really honestly think the if E.P.C.O.T. Was built to walts specifications That we would even be here talking about WDW!?!

I Don't Think so! E.P.C.O.T. was (Pardon Me But) The most insane plan since Hitler's.

Before people start bashing me for my poor spelling of Epcot I am talking about Walts Original plan of a working city. Not the theme park knockoff.

I have a question for you! If WDW is supposed to have all original rides & attractions then why is WDW, DL, DLparis & DL Hong Kong all pretty much the same. Everything from layout to rides & attractions (For the most part).
The answer is simple! Disney Corporation is a business!!! It exists to make $$$$$. You can't make $$$$ by constantly re-inventing the wheel! When A product is worthy you capitalize on it, And for Disney this means to clone it! This was done with Magic Kingdom, The Difference was that WDW didn't have the constraints that DL had Eg: No Space!!! Criticize all you want but Without Eisner Disney Corp was headed for the auction block!! If This would have happened then we would all be sitting here talking about the new Hulk Coaster At Island Of Adventure!!!

I Hope everyone reads this whole post before responding to a snippit that irritates them because I feel I make a valid point!!
:sohappy: WDW 18 days from now i cant wait!!:sohappy:
Epcot was supposed to be something different than what all the other "theme parks" in the world had and Walt designed it so people would come and see what the world is doing in the future and not just another "theme park.
