I have only stayed at PORS and loved it. I normally stay at deluxe but I would go back to PORS great food court. Rooms are a good size and the scenery is great.

I have stayed at CBR and CSR and I loved CSR. I did not find it a "spread out" resort. Stayed in a cabana in between the large "dig" pool and where the main lobby/food court is. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, and the grounds beautiful. I would stay at CSR again. Both of these moderate resorts had hammocks on the beach and I really loved that feature.

I've only stayed at POFQ, but we loved it. We walked over to POR several times, and loved the scenery there, so we just booked our next trip for that side. I can't say anything bad about the other mods since I've never been to them, but I can say that we really love the PO resorts!

My favorite was POFQ. The grounds are beautiful. The theme is well-executed. I loved the small size of the resort; you are not far from anything, no matter where your room is. My kids loved the beads in the food court and tossing the coins in the fountain. The doorman (in Mardi Gras costume) is great. CMs are very friendly. Good bus service. I have stayed at 3/4 (trying CSR I a few weeks) moderate resorts and I like this one most.

We've stayed at the four moderates...CBR, CSR, POFQ, PORS...favs are personal...
Me: POFQ (just like the intimacy of the resort, along with location w/boat ride to DTD, food court); CSR (never had a bad room and used to love the breakfast buffet at Mayan Grill...not very busy during the day...buses)
DH: PORS (likes the rustic feel and away from the 'real' world); CSR (same as mine)
CBR has a special place in our hearts, as it was the very first resort we'd ever stayed at ... on WDW property ... the food court seems to have declined since our first visit in 1990.

I have stayed at POR, Caribbean, and Coronado. I think they are all pretty decent and comparable to each other. You'll probably be happy with any, just pick the theme you like best. I like POR the least, part of that is because of the theming for me.

Having stayed at all four moderates, POFQ and Riverside are my favorite by far! I give the edge to FQ for its small size. I just love it there. You feel like you are really in that Disney bubble at Port Orleans. Both resorts are just amazing. The boat to DTD is a plus too. The atmosphere and grounds are beautiful and we love the rooms at both. We are looking forward to the Royal rooms in a couple of weeks! POR has one of the best food courts also.

I'm considering the Royal rooms :) have you stayed there before?

One Little Spark...
In my opine, Martinique isn't where you should request at CBR. It's Jamaica and Aruba near the footbridge. Better position on the bus lines, walking distance from Old Port Royale, easy access to laundry and other facilities, etc.

CSR is absolutely beautiful in my opinion. My parents like it so much that they made me switch to CSR from BC for our 2+ week vacation.

Love POFQ. Stayed twice at CBR but that was when you can request Martinique and it wasn't a premium room rate.

We are going to POR with a royal room this December. Can't wait!!!! Free fining made us switch.
Stayed in Martinique myself. I thought it was well worth it to pay for a preferred room. We were right at the bus stop and food court. Second bus stop so we never got skipped. Loved the hammocks on the beach.

POR is my favorite of the mods I've stayed in (All except for CSR). I love the Alligator Bayou atmosphere. The rustic rooms are just the kind of style I like. Walking around the resort is just a relaxing experience. Hearing the frogs at night walking from the bus stop was just a great way to wind down the day. Also think it has the best food court and it has a TS restaurant.

Can someone please explain to me about the Disney bubble and how it relates to the mod resorts? I have only stayed at the AOA and we have absolutely loved it. Walking around the resort you are faced with Disney photos and characters everywhere you turn. So with that I definetly felt like being in a Disney bubble, however I am trying to figure out how to explain that to DW about the mods. We are looking at staying at one of the mods next trip, but are wanting to stay at the one that still feels the most Disney-ish for our 4 & 9 year old daughters. Any suggestions??

I don't really have a favorite. I ended up with POFQ as my default because nothing about it bugged me, but the others all have things I like better than some at POFQ.

They all have good and bad points, IMO. And, honestly, there isn't THAT big a difference in them all. So, you should just look at pics online (there are some here and some at allearsnet.com) and go to the one that seems to be calling, "janelove...janelove...come to me..." :)

Let us know which one you pick!

CBR: it is centrally located, it has a laid back feel, and beautiful surroundings. While the food court is nothing super special, it meets the needs for a quick bite to eat and has a varied enough menu that everyone should be able to find something. We always stay in Martinique in a preferred room so we have a short hop to the bus stop and to Old Port Royale. We''ve only stayed at a Value once for a quick MVMCP trip. It was Pop Century. We wouldnt' stay there again. From that one time limited experience, i would say that it was worth tehe extra money. I would give AOA a try as it is gorgeous and the pool area looks great, other than that I don't think we would try a value again.

Staying at a Moderate is definitely worth it in comparison to a Value for us. We've stayed at the Poly which was awesome but its just not worth the price unless you plan on spending a lot of time at the resort. Pop was ok but the bus service wasn't great. I stayed at PO back when it was Dixie Landings and stayed there again last January. Both great experiences. The Royal Rooms are beautiful and pretty close in proximity to the lobby and food court. Bus stops are plentiful. This February we are trying POFQ. It'll be just the two of us and I'm looking forward to the smaller resort and romantic atmosphere others have described.
