There is speculation that it will be based on e-mail some people who will be there in February received suggesting they would get a "sneak peak" and to prepare for the thrills directed them to the Expedition Everest webpage to get warmed up for it.

Until you get on it, don't depend on getting on it. But, you never know.

When I was there on Thursday for the AP preview I asked one of the CMs What they are going to do after the preview is over. She basically told me they would probably continue testing the attraction and resort guests would most likely be riding. That is from a CM so who knows. I can't see them paying people to stand around an empty attraction.

Answers of EE

-Cast previews last week
-Passholders / DVC starting the 26-29th of January
-Soft openings for guests randomly selected throughout February maybe march if you get selected you will receive something in the mail with reservation confirmations (my fiancee's parents got selected when I booked their trip coming up for mid Feb)
-Opening early April... cant say which day but a few days before the AK changes hours for their evenings till 8...(wink)

Rode it 14 times now, and more tomorrow.... AWESOME

I shall be in WDW 8th - 22nd Feb. Anyone any suggestions of what days or times it would be worth wandering by AK to see if there is any chance of my getting on EE

Not long now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o :o :o :o

I spoke with Imagineer Steve Burns when exiting EE on Thursday and he told me that "unofficially" EE would be open for soft openings pretty much from here on out. It would be closed here and there for tweaking and maintenance but will be open as much as possible.

Listen to my podcast for more information! :)

So in response to "them" paying people to stand around an empty attraction....:

Yesterday there was someone outside of Test Track answering questions people had(also informing people that the ride is actually close, even though there is a huge wall around it and you can not get inside.)
There was also someone outside of the 50's Prime Time Cafe yesterday doing the same exact thing. Some guests do not realize or care to read signs when things are closed so they have to pay people to stand outside these attractions.

Hoping for soft openings when I arrive on Wednesday. I am an AP and I'll be staying on property, so I'm hoping I get to do something on EE.
Sounds like the BEST way to find out if there will be anything going on is just to show up there. There is already too many uncertainties to plan your vacation or days around trying to ride it.
"I got an email, I didn't, I heard this, I heard that, a CM said this, another CM don't know, " etc."

I did notice there are some areas where the signs aren't up yet in the gift shop, etc, so I would guess they'd want that finished before they let the general public in, wouldn't they?

Rode in the front row, back row, and most rows in between, but got rows 8 and 12 the most for some reason... AWESOME ride!!!!!

Those signs are placeholders for the picture system when that arrives on site. We still have not heard a definitive date to when the picture system is arriving at Everest but hopefully it will be sooner than later.
