ee behind the scene pics

your pics are awsome. But just one statement.

~Why do the "Stanby entrance" and "Fast Pass" signs not fit in with the theme. I mean they are just white boards that stick out like a soar thumb. Urgh. why would the imagineers do so much work and put so much detail into this ride just to rruin the effect with two signs they could easily theme to the surroundings.

sry I'm a little about the themeing.:D

I don't feel those two signs are going to ruin the ride's experience.

Don't forget I'm sure they wanted them to be clear enough so people knew where to enter. They don't want people to get lost.:D

Maybe they are not finished.

I think they are finished, and are white so Cast Members, if asked, can just point to the plain white signs where guests can enter.

There always has to be a trade off between visual authenticity, and plain ole functionality for operational reasons. As has been seen recently around the Splash Mountain area, people have problems reading heavily themed signs, they assume its part of the story, and doesnt need to be read. This then results in people getting lost or heading into the wrong line. It's a fine balance, but ultimately the attraction has to be operationally efficient.

Good Point.

Excellent pictures 000! I hope your backstage tour was fun and memorable and was truly a "wish come true". If you find the time, I'd love to hear more about your experience, the Imagineer you toured with and any other details you would be willing to share with us.

Thanks again for the photos! :)

wow, thoes are some amazing pictures
it looks even biger than before

i wonder how tall it actually is?
has any information liek that been leaked/released yet?
i wonder what the top speed is?

the theming is great, despite the signs, but it kindof fits in, if you look closely it appears to be made of wooden planks, or is it just me?
does anyone know the layout yet?

i'm really looking foward to this one, but i can't help the fact that it looks very intimadating

To answer some of your questions:

The top peak is 199 feet tall.
Maximum height of track is about 120feet
Maximum drop is 80 feet.
Top speeds around 50mph

One of these threads has a nice fan-made schematic of the track layout. Not sure which one though. Basically, the train will leave the station, turn right and go up a small lift hill. After this first lift, it will go underneath the rock formation the temple sits on and loop around amongst bamboo and other trees before hitting the main lift. The train will ascend up to the main lift, through the temple that will display "higher artistic" paintings of the Yeti. The train will eventually reach the main mountain and take a banked turn inside an icy cavern to the left and up another small hill. During this time, the track switches behind the train and the train then falls backwards into a dark tunnel of the mountain. It will go through a helix (this is NOT synonomous with a loop) and up another hill. After the track switches again, the train will resume forward motion, and drop down the 80 ft lift. The rest of the layout is iffy but involves going in and out the mountain through the back, through two outside helices (again, not a loop) and eventually glide past the 15ft-20ft Yeti AA inside the main show building that is part of the mountain's back. During the whole attraction, the Yeti is "present" in some form ( from the primitive artwork seen in the queue, to the higher scale artwork seen in the temple, to hearing sounds, seeing evidence of track damage, etc.) but you won't actually see him/her/it until near the end of the ride.

As for the standby/FP signs, I don't see the problem. They are pretty similar to the signs seen at Kali if I remember right. It looks more authentic without them, but folks have to know where to enter the ride :)

how will the show building be hidden, i know it wouldn't be visible from the paths, but i remember having very clear views of the entire construction site from blizzard beach.

i know that the imagineers have probally thought of everything, and i can thing of a few ways to hide its as well, but will the be relying on foilage alone?

The rear of the show building is well over 100 feet. They will not be able to block that with foliage. They will most likely make no attempt to hide the backside of the mountain as it is not visible from within the park.

Actually very cool, I wonder just how acurate this is.... I like the backward motion, I hate drops but I will just have to suckit up and give it a go!!
It's actually very accurate in layout except there are two helixes in the back. The only other flaw is its speed and timing. But other than that it is perfect.
