With the recent pictures of the inside of expedition Everest am I to assume that EE will be a "suped-up" version of the Matterhorn at Disneyland?
Another coincidence is that fact that both will have a Yeti or Adomidibel(sp?) snowman. The EE one seems to be the one that will be scarier.

Following is a link to a ride through of the Matterhorn. See what you think.

I don't think that the two are ven comparible, two roller coasters in a mountain thats about where the similariteis end.

If EE is anything like Matterhorn besides being in a mountain is will be very disappointed. All the Matterhorn does is race threw a crappy looking mountain and encounter 2 crappy looking Yetis, Do the Yetis even move?

How you can compare the two when Everest isn't done with construction, hasn't been tested/previewed and opened is beyond me, but whatever.

I don't think they are at all comparable in terms of quality or scale but the fact that they both have a Yeti led me to think of this too when I first heard of EE.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Space Mountain the same ride system and layout as the Matterhorn? It sure looks the similar.

As I am fond of saying when pitching EE to guests..

It's the technicological big brother to the Matterhorn... What Disney would have done if the technology and the money were available 20 years.com

EE is the Matterhorn on steroids, then suped up some more then evolved for the next great Thrill ride. Think Grandfather and Grandson with the dad lost somewhere in the middle. I think they'll probably do a little bit of a throwaway to the Matterhorn somewhere in EE but I think when its all said and done it will be two completely difference experiences, and I can't wait!!!

Yeah, that's the assumption I have been going on as well from everything I have read. I mean, the similarities in concept are pretty striking from the details we know - big, snowy mountain, housing a roller coaster that goes inside and outside, mythological snow creature chasing you.

Now, obviously the application of the concept is looking to be very different. Comparisons are going to be fair, though should obviously keep the respective technologies and generation of the rides during any discussion.

On EE you will be travelling in a train. On the Matterhorn you travel in 2 Tobagans or whatever they are called. On the Matterhorn you are supposed to be sliding down a mountain through caves. While the two rides have similarities - mountain, Yeti, they are very different experiences. I love the Matterhorn and think it is a great ride. I am sure EE will be a great ride too. Matterhorn has a lot of history and nostalgia behind it too.

The yeti on the Matterhorn do move, but are limited. You only see them as you race by.

well if you all are thinking in the way of the ride system, of course it's different but when you look at the concept (big snow covered mountain with monsters inside) it's absically the same except different intentions. MAtterhorn was supposed to be a bobsled ride, Everest is more concerend with the story of the Yeti. Over all Everest is to Matterhorn as Space Mountain: US is to Space Mountain: From the Earth to the Moon, Paris. or better yet, The Matterhorn is to Expedition: Everest as The Haunted Mansion is to the Tower of Terror.
