ECV rental question

Does anyone know if Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV's) can be rented from a Disney hotel for your entire stay? I know you can rent them in the parks. We will be in Disney at the end of October and my mother is coming with us. However after we made and paid for all our reservations, my mother just was diagnosed with colon/liver cancer and had surgery this past month. She starts a pill chemo treatment in two weeks. Her doctor said she still could go to Disney which is great news because she has been so looking forward to it. However, she gets tired so quickly we would like to rent a ECV for our entire stay.

Thank you soooo much! I know it will be a tremendous help for her. I think it will definitely make her stay alittle easier.

My grandmother could not have gone with us without a ecv. She had a great time and the memories we made are priceless. I hope your mother gets well soon and that you have a wonderful trip.

My aunt has the ECV's delivered to her hotel for every trip she makes. She can't do the walk to/from the buses without it. She swears by the service. It sounds perfect for your mother.

Have fun and good luck!

I rented one several years ago from a medical supply company in Florida and had it my entire stay after knee surgery. I could not of done it without.
Get a prescription from your moms doctor writing what the medical necessity is. Many insurances will help cover the cost. It depends on her condition, her insurance company etc. Worth looking into. I wish her a lovely vacation. Some rides will let her go up the exit to board although some will not but in some they have a wheelchair available just ask the Person at the ride and you can push her up to the ride so she does not have the long wait as this can be quite tireing when not feeling well. Also the monorail she can easily enter the w/c car without difficulty they help so much. The buses she will have to look for the buses with a wheelchair logo and they have a ramp to help her board once inside though most make you transfer to a seat. Have a great trip.

I've used Walker Mobility twice now and they are great. They will drop off and pick up at your hotel's luggage storage area. Since my mother couldn't back it onto the bus, I did that for her, the bus drivers will not, maybe occasionally one will, but don't count on it. After a few times it was easy, like parallel parking a car, so someone in your group should be prepared to do that, it will make things much easier.

I wish i could have got back before you rented from the other company there is another company Care medical, that has better service if you have a problem I had a scooter from Walker a few years ago and had a problem (the unit kept poping out of gear the is on the rear of the unit) good luck if you need service while you are there, it took 3 days to get a replacement and they kept telling me how to try and fix the problem. not what I expected for 300 + $ for a week.

I should also mention that the speed of the ecv changes by the type of flooring you are riding on, for example you can be set at the same speed and when driving inside the hotel on tiles you will go much faster compared to driving on cement.
