Hi All!

Okay, so here is the idea/plan. DH and I have a day where we are going to hit Epcot for EMH hours in the a.m. and stay all day. Because we don't have a place we love for breakfast, and there is SO much to choose from around World, we are going to be eating and drinking around the world! This doesn't mean ordering full meals. Actually, quite the opposite. We are looking for your favorite apps, snacks, treats, desserts, hidden favorites in each of the countries.

For example, what do you love to order at the bakery in France? What do you love at the Cantina in Mexico? Or do you prefer to order something at the kiosks where you buy drinks and eats outside the pavilion?

What ever it is, where ever you get it, we want to know. We would love to find the hidden gems around the World Showcase!

Thanks so much!

A hand-twisted pretzel from Germany is a must. They're the best pretzels on the property.

Another must is the School Bread from Norway.

I also recommend the tequila in Mexico (or a margarita), the Grey Goose Citron in France (which I like more than the Grand Marnier Slush), and a crepe in France.

The caramel corn in Germany is really good, they make it fresh there! As another poster mentioned, the pretzel in Germany (with mustard and accompanied by beer) is also excellent. I am a huge fan of the grand marnier and grey goose slushes as well. Both are really good! My husband and I also split a QS meal from Tangerine cafe in Morocco and it was great, so if you decide you want something more meal-like, you can definitely split something there! I think we had the gyro platter? or combination platter? SO much good stuff!! :sohappy:

If you can get the caramel corn after it has just been made it is fantastic

Matt & I did this a few years ago with some friends - it's a lot of fun. We did eat & drink as well, so that we could skip drinks in some countries. Didn't want to be the drunk crew in Epcot.

My favorites from that day:
-Chocolate crepes in France
-Sangria in Morocco
-Margarita's in Mexico
-Schoolbread in Norway

We also had wine in Italy, beer in Canada, funnel cakes in the Americas, hot tea in the UK, some sort of chocolate dessert in Germany..I can't even remember what else. It's a lot of different things, I was a little nauseated by the end.

A fun thing you can do along the way...
-Get a World Showcase passport in one of the shops in Epcot. You can stop at each Kidcot station & get it stamped after you eat in that country. I know it's for kids, but I enjoyed it. The CM's at each both wrote messages in different languages. Great souvenir from that day.

I also made a sheet with each country, and wrote in what we drank or ate. I centered it around an Epcot logo. Nice scrap booking page if you're into that. Have fun!

Thanks for the info! Yeah, this is going to be our bfast, lunch and dinner. And we are there all day including EMH. So hopefully we don't feel too punky by the end. I think my DH could drink around the world - he would be super annoying by the end but I think he could do it. But for me, there is no way. That is why we share a drink and a water at each pavillion. I can't wait to give this a try! :sohappy:

I like the idea of making a page - maybe I will get a little album - take a picture of us, with drink, and food (i always include a flag and a hat too!) and then I can do a blog entry or something fun. :)

Hope you are well!!!

thanks! I am supposed to try school bread there as well. I have no idea what cardamon tastes like though and I guess that is in it/on it. hmmmm....

Last time I had the School Bread it was loaded with Cardamom, too much. Maybe it was a fluke. It is very strong and a little goes a long way.

You may have had it in spice cookies, especialy any Nordic ones. My Norwegian grandmother used it all the time.

In Norway there are pretzels that have frosting and almonds on them and they are delicious!! I have no idea what it's called, but I get one almost every time we go. Also, you can sample saki in the back of the Japan store. When we did the sampling a few years ago we got to keep our cup (nothing special, it's plastic, but it's a cool souvenir).
Enjoy!!

I've seen a picture of those pretzels on a food blog - they look yummy! With getting a pretzel in Germany, I thought I might pass, but now I know to get the karmel korn...so maybe i'll get the pretzel in norway. I wonder if it is "authentic" though? hmmmm....
