My fiance and I are planning on going to the parks this Saturday. Prev experiences of the parks being crowded? I have heard both answers from a few people. Inputs please and thank you! :)

Saying the WDW is crowded on Easter is kind of like saying that George Lucas did alright financially with Star Wars merchandise. MK in particular is insanely crowded on Easter. So much so that it frequently closes due to capacity.

When I was doing my college program we were all working 60+ hours a week around Easter if that says anything. ;)

my family went over Easter every year. The trick is to go early and take advantage of the fast passes. :) It wasn't bad at all.

We tried this last year... People didn't believe me that I waited an hour and 15 minutes in the FAST pass line for Soaring. I was only able to get on about 2 rides per day. I will never do it again. HOWEVER last year was a perfect storm... everyone had vacations from school that year. This year part of New England will NOT have vacation... .so let's hope your time isn't as crowded. It's too beautiful not to have a good time!

All school systems in the metro Atlanta area are on spring break this week. Many, many, head to WDW. When we went this week three years ago (also Easter week) MK reached capacity early in the morning on several days and was closed. Waits in Epcot for Soarin and Test Track were 180 minutes (no kidding, we couldn't believe it). We vowed NEVER AGAIN.

Very Very Lucky

I am so lucky that we (Connecticut) do not have our vacation this week. I heard it's so much less crowded when I'm going.

I will be there next week....plan for MK around 11:30pm Wednesday, Thursday Universal at open and Friday AK at open. Do you think we will be ok for crowds/wait times?

Never been at this time of year before.

When we went last year, MK pretty much evacuated around 10! It was a late night and we had a good time. Since I really have to plan carefully, it was totally worth the effort. I think you REALLY need to take advantage of early morning/late night. It seems to me that teenagers are not at MK later, like they are at some other parks... so that's an awesome plan.

Well, with EMH MK is open 7am to 3am...so I'm sure at some point the capacity will go down?

It seemed to me that the capacity went down when kids were in bed. The early morning hours at MK were crowded... but, after 10 it was almost barren. (This being the crowded easter week with EVERYONE on vacation)

Yes, CT got lucky with the April Break this year. Purchasing flights from CT still costs a lot but at least you'll miss the biggest crowds. We have a CT friend heading down on April 15 (we went earlier this Easter week). Crowds were really heavy the first week of April. By comparison, the parks should feel empty the week of April 15!

The flights were expensive, I think they KNOW when our vacation is! :) Anyway, I'm driving... so I'm just wishing the gas prices would go down a bit. I'm hoping it's feeling empty! Wish me luck!!!!

Epcot wasn't bad at all yesterday. We were there from 10-3 and it felt like a normal Saturday. It started to get more packed in World Showcase around 3 but there was no wait for SSE when we walked out. I figured it would have been more crowded than it was.

I posted on another Easter crowd thread, but I'll do a slight recap here...
We went to Epcot on Thursday, MK on Friday, and DHS on Saturday.
We got through the majority of all the parks attractions, 3 meals, and 1-3 hour break everyday even with the crowds.
Honestly, I thought it was MUCH better than it was when I have visited in both the mid-summer or Christmas, but maybe it's just me? Really though, use fastpass wisely and it's a breeze.

First post here...but I'm a disney veteran! We just returned from a 10-day Easter trip and the crowds were not what I expected at all. I know most days had a crowd level 10 predicted for my stay, but I'd be shocked if we experienced any 10's. The only crowded times we noticed were at MK when it hit early afternoon. Crowds were flocking in by 2:00ish, but the mornings worked out well and we got a lot done in the morning hours. We went to Epcot on Easter day and it was fabulous!

Also, regarding disney resorts, we did a split stay (WL and BC) and were upgraded at both resorts (without asking..). The CM's indicated they had a lot of availability/empty rooms.

I hope all this means disney will offer some sort of deal next Easter. It was outrageously expensive this year and hopefully the lower-than-anticipated attendance at parks and resorts will give disney incentive to offer some sort of break/deal for next year.
