easter crowds

We made the big mistake of going last year on Easter. Not only is it Easter, but it is spring break for most schools. There were more people there during that week than we have seen in the summer. We tried to go to Magic Kingdon on Easter Sunday, but when we got off our bus, we couldn't even get near the gate! So we jumped on the monarail to Epcot which wasn't as bad, but later in the day (and the few days after) they closed the Magic Kingdom (and maybe some of the other parks) to the public because it was so crowded. If you were not staying on Disney property, they would not let you on the monarail or buses.

We just got back last Monday and there were hardly any crowds, because it was right after labor day and all the kids had just gone back to school. I definitely recommend going during the off season!! It was so much more enjoyable because we didn't have to wait on lines for 2 hours!!

Good Luck!

We went during Easter vacation 2-3 years (can't remember exactly) with a 4 year old. Never again:hammer: Not only crowded, but it had to be the hottest Easter ever, along with the fact that Florida was having a drought and had brush fires.

My fiancee and I try to make day trips to Disney every week or two, and we have never seen the crowds at the parks as large as we have the last few years the week leading up to and the week following Easter. Large, slow-moving (and in some cases, exceedingly rude) crowds of people.
We usually just chalk up our April trips to the World as losses, as most attractions you want to get on will have ridiculously long lines, or fast pass return times that are very, very late in the day.
My advice, go during the off season (late fall, mid-winter... except Thanksgiving... though if you have thick skin, go to the water parks in November... no one in those parks AT ALL), avoid spring and summer (unless you're a pass holder and if you've wasted a day here and there, it won't affect your wallet too greatly).

Easter is the most crowded I have sene a park, Magic Kingdom, on any day. Beating Christmas, New Years Eve/Day, 4th/July and all other random times I have vacationed there. We went during Easter Break for 7 trips I think, and we do not go there again during that time. And to think it took 7 trips to awaken us...
